Shift Knobchrissilver3609 01-02-2004, 05:41 PM I have a 93 toyota tercel. Im looking at new shift knobs and I was wondering how you remove the stock shift know to replace it. Thanks in advance. Tercel GTS 01-03-2004, 12:44 AM Grab it and unscrew counter clock wise, it's just glued not to slip. Most aftermarket don't screw back on though. chrissilver3609 01-04-2004, 11:04 AM Thanks for the post.. One question though.. When I unscrew the factory knob I should be able to put a different one on that I bought right.. By forcing the knob off it wont damage anything will it.. Thanks for everything.. Tercel GTS 01-04-2004, 05:06 PM Didn't damage anything on mine, most aftermarket ones just fit a shft without theads, meaning you'd have to cut it, just like I cut mine. :) chrissilver3609 01-04-2004, 10:52 PM Thanks for the help... I got the old one off with a pair of pliers and I drilled some holes in the threads of the stick and then just put some screws through those to get it tight.. It fits good..
