I have a 96 integra, non-vtec. the idle is around 500 which is kind of low. I am trying to adjust it. i first disconnected the idle sensor, and adjusted the idle to around 750, by turning the screw. but after i connect the sensor back on, the idle goes back to 500. does anyone know if i am doing it wrong? thankx.

If you're following the Chilton book, you'll need to reset the ECU after adjusting the idle screw.

You can do this by disconnecting the battery for 15 seconds.

The best way to adjust the idle is by measuring the voltage on the Throttle Valve Position sensor (it varies from 0.32V/0.45V at closed/idle up to 5 volts when fully open). Don't disconnect the plug from the throttle body when measuring.

Before adjusting the valve, measure the voltage on the Throttle Valve Position Sensor (professionaly set at the factory). If you've already adjusted the idle, find out the voltage value from Acura or from someone who has the same car.

Green is Ground.
One of the wires are a constant 5 volts.
The other wire varies in voltage (you should measure this with respect to the ground cable).
