Front end grinding

OK I got a 95 sohc and everything is fine.
had the timing belt and water pump done for $200 just in case.
but it has a problem. the Front drives side wheel sounds like something is grinding.
The guy i bought it from said it was the wheel bearing.
I had that replaced at the same time..... but it still grinds.
The shop said the front end was smashed and was off about .5 inch.
The front bracet (i think motor mount) is bent pretty bad and they said that is what is grinding?
just doesn't make sense to me since it sounds like it's coming from the wheel not the middle.

any help would be apreceated. here are the symptoms
grinding noise from the front drivers side wheel. (sounds like a brake dragin almost)
only happens when you are turning left (even slightly )
only happens when in gear. (gets really quite in neutral or when the clutch is in)
goes completely silent when turning right.

so far..... brakes look ok.....cv boots look good.....machanic looked at the axle to tranny connection and everything looked fine.....tranny and final looked good not leaking......

once again any help would be great.....

Any IDeas????? Anyone???
May plan (which si not a safe one) is to jack up the front end..... put jack stands on each side..... then start the car and put it in drive and let it idiol while i try to see where it is coming from.

I would bring it to another front-end specialst for a second opinion. he mounts are not that exspensive and are easy to replace if need be. The rest is little more involved. Did you have the brake system check for possible collapsed rubber hoses or semi-seized components? That would also give you a loud front-end grinding sound under certain driving conditions.

thanks for the help...
It was too damn cold this weekend to be working on the car so next weekend i will try to find where it is coming from again... I am pretty sure it is not the brakes... but maybe....
It also doesn't sound like a cv because it is more a grinding then a clicking. (just past experence with CV's they make a pretty distinctive sound)
the front mount may still be it.... I looked in the book and it looks like it is bent in the picture also???
is it supposed to be a little off center????
or should it be straight....
