No offense if i'm wrong, but 1992RS, you say your putting 400hp to the ground with a 305? how the hell do you squeeze 400hp out of a 305. that thing better be blown with about 20:1 compression. otherwise i think your fulla shit!

Ok, I'll "go there" again. 305 bored 40 over, 335 stroker kit, 670 holley TBI unit, edelbrock performer RPM intake with 2 inch TBI adapter, port and pollished torquer 305 heads, 560/572 cam, bowtie roller rockers, 10:1 compresion, underdrive pullies, MSD electronic ignition with 50,000 volt coil, double roller timing chain, comstom made ram air set up, I've spent more in suspension and chassis work than most do on there whole car...that's the jist of it, I'm sure I might have left something out.

Oh, I did, custome burned chip from hypertech, 160 degree stat, electric water pump, no emissions shit, edelbrock headers, home made X pipe to 3 inch pipes to a set of flowmaster 40 series before teh axl with 3 1/2 tail pipes. Ok, I think that's about it.

I dont wanna piss you off but all im tryin to say is that you shouldnt call it a 305 if its not, its like me sayin my engines a 350 when its a 355. I would be full of crap too so do be pullin a tj and sayin you have a 305, ok.

1992RS
01-01-2004, 02:37 AM
I say 305 on here so people can understand that it can be done with a 305 block. With the bore and stroke it comes out to like 340, but if I put that then I'd really be called out. Who ever heard of a chevy 340? 383 and 355 are known displacements, 335 or 340 aren't. I'm not trying to be diseptive, besides, I get better responces when I say 305. Most people pull em and junk em. I actualy made a monster out of one.

Well i understand what your talking about but i hate it when people say a bunch of crap to get people to think their cars big and bad when thats nothing compared to what it actually is. Cause when people actually do have that, nobody believes them. I just get sick and tired of people crap and most of the time i wanna hit em'

man, when did 92RS become a target on here, its like all these newbies are poppen on and trying to knock repected people off pedistals to make names for themselves and make asses of themselves in the process. i think its safe to say that hotgayrod is either here for teh sole purpose of trying to get a rise out of people. or is just an honest to god punk. but either way, hes not worth my time. but i do have to argue with crapmaster. i am building a bored and stroked 302 to put in my IROC, cuz im doing a heratage deal, i want a 302 in my Z28, like they had in 69, but its going to be bored 30 over and stroked .211 inches, so it will actually be 327.5 inches. but im still putting 302 badges on the hood scoop, cuz thats what it was. its not a 327 cuz that engine had a 4in bore, and a 3.25in stroke, mine has a 4.030in bore, and a 3.211in stroke. so ist a different engine. its easier to say its a 302, and cooler, than saying its a 327, but not the one that gm made, for these reasons.... ya know? and honestly, i repect you for your attention to detail and firm honest outlook, but everyone i know even the car mags, referr to 355's as 350s, or at least 30 over 350s. i mean, if your engine was two tenths of a cubic inch larger thana 350, would you inclue that in your displacement??? its really not that big a deal. but i will say again, that 92RS is a well repeced member of the forum, because he does not bullshit, or lead people astray, at least not intentionally, we are all human after all. but he has gaind a strong reputation for a reason, and people need to not make issues where there are none. and get to know that before they accuse someone of being a poser.

personally I think it's kick ass that your getting 400HP out of a 305 block. and still using a tbi setup. A true sleeper. Honestly I would take one look at that throttle body sitting on the engine and laugh thinking that it would be an ez kill. Now i'm gonna think twice about it..... Now for you other people......take your dumb comments somewhere elese. ricers who do nothing but start shit are not welcome. ( at least in my book.)

1992, I don't even know you and I feel bad for ya. Dang, you mean some of these rice lovin' f+*k^%s have time to do something other than harass the Ford guys. Do they work? Where do they find the time?

Great work on the 305 by the way and I agree with your reasoning for building the 305. Too much good American iron is getting overlooked for the sake of a 1991 Civic. C'mon ricer guys, buy a 83-88 fox body T-Bird, or a 3rd gen F-body, or a G-body GM. These guys come into a forum and start talking trash about American V-8's when they obviously don't know the first thing about them.

I have a 1988 T-Bird Turbo Coupe and I had a little incident with my oil return line. Seems the rest of the motor got kinda upset about it and took a vacation too. Hint: When metal parts glow the same color as the surface of the sun this is usually a bad thing.

I initially thought about getting rid of it, but then I decided to keep it because IMO it is much cooler ANY Honda I have ever seen. I want to put an eight in it and put twin turbo's on it. But, the old gal isn't getting shelved on my watch. Like I said, too much old American iron is getting overlooked as it is.

I guess I didn't help the matter any by letting him get to me. But at least I proved another jack ass wrong huh? First Toppdog now this joker. Man I'm just a magnet for these jerks. A red glowing turbo turbine. Good thing they're efficiant.

Hypsi87
01-01-2004, 09:52 PM
well it was pitch black and it was right after a 30 PSI run. 30psi is just a little much for the current size turbo I got on there. It's still efficent but if you look at the compressor map it's just on the ragged edge. Ive only done that twice... had to show a slightly moddfied '03 slowbra just exactly what he was messing with :smokin:
