I went on vacation this weekend and left my 1990 bmw 535i at home. Went to get in it today and the locks wouldn't work. Got in through the little trick you do for emergencies, but the hood won't open, car won't start. ....completely dead! Could it be that I somehow ran the battery down or is it some type of antitheft thing or even worse an electrical problem? If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate your input!

Should work once you get into the cabin, and can reach the release handle.

Got it started! Was the battery, I must have left one of the dome lights on (that's the blond in me). Hooked it up to a battery charger I found in the garage and now I'm good to go! Thanks !!!...I'm learning all this car stuff little by little!

hi everyone,

same thing happened to me this week.. I havent used my bmw 535i for one week and when i tried to use it this morning, the door locks wont open when i put in the keys... i suspect it is a dead battery..

now, my problem is i cant open the hood since the release handle is inside ...any ideas? although i can open the trunk though... or is there any way for the hood to be opened?

appreciate all the inputs i can get.. thanks...
