92, 3.0 Cranks but doesn't startfreddyrod 12-29-2003, 06:21 PM Hi, I have a 1992 Plymouth Voyage, which is the same as the Caravan, with a 3.0L engine, 3 speed trans that will not start. Initially, engine went dead while waiting at a drive-thru, idling in drive. It turns over fine, but does not catch on. Things that I have checked: 1. Spark out of Ignition – there. 2. Distributor rotor move when engine is cranked. 3. Spark plugs looked dry. 4. Checked fuel pump output rather coarsely, disconnected fuel supply hose from injector assembly and into a can. Cranked engine and notice fuel shooting out. Well I have air, fuel and spark. Why wont it start?? Not really familiar with all the relays and sensors that could contribute to problem. Please if you have any ideas as to what it could be, email me as soon as you can. I really need to get this going. Thanks ahead of time. A bad crankshaft position sensor, for example, would allow the coil to create spark/fuel, but at the wrong time. I'd pay the $ to have a diagnostic computer hooked up to see what the sensors are telling you. freddyrod 12-29-2003, 07:34 PM Note, the motor cranks smoothly(normal) without backfiring. But i will have someone check that out. Thanks. Digitos 12-30-2003, 12:46 AM You might also want to check fuel pressure at an injector. Just because you have fuel pressure at the rail doesn't mean the injectors are firing. If that's the case, you've probably got a bad computer. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
