Brake Lights not working!VDowns 12-28-2003, 07:40 PM I have a 92Ford Taurus, which I just had the front brakes and tie rods replaced. When I was ready to leave the repair facility, my car would not shift out of park. I checked the car manual and I was able to override the Brake Shift Interlock system and get the car out of park. I checked the brake lights and they are not working. I checked the fuse hoping that it was the problem, and the fuse is okay. Does anyone know what the problem could be? The people who replaced my front brakes and tie rods claim that their repair would have had nothing to do with my brakes lights not working and not being able to get my car out of park. Not knowing anything about cars and only learning what I have from sites such as this, I wouldn't know if that is true. Does anyone know if replacing the front brakes and tie rods would effect my brake lights? Any info would be appreciated. denander 12-30-2003, 03:50 PM I know nothing about cars, but I had the same problem on a 2000. It turned out to be a "wire/connector" above the break pedal that was loose....they were replaced them and I have had no problem. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
