Was wondering the same thing, I just picked up a 98 GC with a 5.9. Anyone have any experiences to share? Milage, power, noise..?

Thanks,
Jeff

I have had a 93 limited ZJ for 8 years now. I installed the K&n 4 years ago with no regrets to date great add on for the ZJ. feels like I am running race fuel with 87gas and sounds more agresive when the secondarys open up.

I recently bought a 95 JGC Ltd with a 5.2 to replace my 93 JGC 4.0. I put on a custom 2.5" pipe exhaust with a flowmaster, new converter, and dropeed in a K&N filter in the stock air cleaner box. I have almost 5 mpg better mileage on the highway and this Jeep sounds like a big block on steroids. The performance is noticably better too. I had a free flow exhaust on the 93 with a K&N and was able to get 22 to 23 mpg a flat highway with the cruise set at 70. Both Jeeps were set up for maximum power for towing, the great sound is a benefit of the modifications.

I did a home brew type K&N fipk. The original is a 9 inch long filter with a 3 inch flange. I put in a 14 inch long K&N conical filter. just hooked it up to the stock airhat with a section of 3 inch aluminum pipe. My grand cherokee breathes so much better now, it actually changed the sound of my exhaust.

I didn't stop there though, put in new lift kit, cap, rotor, super coil, wires plugs, and a 3" exhaust with a flowmaster 50. this 5.2L sounds "almost" like a muscle car now. I used to get 13.2 city/17 highway.... Now i get 14.7 city/19.1 highway.

I have an 04 GC Laredo Freedom Edition with the 4.7L H.O. V8, too and I got one of the K&N FIPK kits for it, and I think it is awesome, I would definitely suggest getting one, it sounds really nice, gives you more power, and I think a bit better gas mileage, I also got a Gibson catback exhaust system.
