1965 Chevy El Camino LOWRIDERdannysreallycool 12-22-2003, 07:13 PM I painted my AMT 1965 El Camino that i got from wal-mart for 5$ today, it is painted with a GOLD BASE with Testors Candy Apple Red Transparent and i bought some lowrider rims and used transparent red markers on the spokes of the rims. http://www.geocities.com/dannysreallycool/65elrimz.jpg http://www.geocities.com/dannysreallycool/65elltop.jpg I have also scratch-built my own exuast system out of putty and styrene(they are only taped on in the pics below, not yet fitted and complete). I used the guts of some $0.99 headphones for the subs and some old headers for the amps. Since i mod computers i had left over wires and stuff so i used it for air bag controls. there will be more progress soon, until then leave some comments http://www.geocities.com/dannysreallycool/65elengine.jpg http://www.geocities.com/dannysreallycool/65elback.jpg http://www.geocities.com/dannysreallycool/65elpump.jpg http://www.geocities.com/dannysreallycool/65elstereo.jpg dannysreallycool 12-22-2003, 07:15 PM If Pics Dont Work Put Them In Favorites And To See Them 86_SR5 12-22-2003, 11:01 PM I got this one. You put the tach that it comes with in? I'm askin cuz I'm too lazy to go through the trouble of viewing the pics. Bloodhound 12-23-2003, 04:17 AM Nice work! the pictures are working for me, no problems there. dannysreallycool 12-23-2003, 11:50 AM ya it comes with a tach, but i won't be using it on this kit cuz its going to be a lowrider. I will probably use it on a import or my camaro. EMAXX 12-23-2003, 01:23 PM I can't seem to get the pics to work. I right clicked, got the properties and pasted that and it still doesn't work. 86_SR5 12-23-2003, 02:10 PM ya it comes with a tach, but i won't be using it on this kit cuz its going to be a lowrider. I will probably use it on a import or my camaro. Yeah a lowrider with a nice tach like that would be pretty odd. I like your dual exhaust. Did you know, you can use extras to make it like the 69' and 70' el camino. Also, did yours come with the optional 'camper top'? ProSStreet 12-23-2003, 04:00 PM I love Elkys, maybe because i own a 67. I just bought this kit and plan to make a lowrider out of it also. keep up the good work dannysreallycool 12-23-2003, 04:25 PM thank you for your comments! And yes it came with a camper top but the instructions are kind of hard and it doesnt show all the parts that came with the kit. (ex:The camper comes with a door and in the instructions it doesnt even mention it anywhere) dag65 12-23-2003, 05:31 PM thank you for your comments! And yes it came with a camper top but the instructions are kind of hard and it doesnt show all the parts that came with the kit. (ex:The camper comes with a door and in the instructions it doesnt even mention it anywhere) You find that sometime in the older reissued kits, what you got were the extras from another issue. BONUS!!!!!! You can get some great parts box stuff that way Toyotagt1 12-23-2003, 05:34 PM i cant see the pic nothing 86_SR5 12-23-2003, 10:27 PM Since it's a reissue it doesn't come with a list of options, like the crappy 2piece glue together drag slicks. funny, this kit can be a drag car (optional dual carb setup, with headers) stock, or a camper truck. BTW, I used pieces of the camper to make hood scoops, and amps. dannysreallycool 12-23-2003, 11:34 PM BTW, I used pieces of the camper to make hood scoops, and amps. AMPS! Thats a good idea! i was planning on throwing them away. And im working on a couple of other lowriders, that would be helpful. But how did you make hood scoops? z_dutchie 12-24-2003, 04:38 AM nice project like those red X's  :thefinger L:lol:L Zcaithaca 12-24-2003, 08:37 AM cant see anything...and it sounds great...try to fix those pix 86_SR5 12-24-2003, 01:34 PM AMPS! Thats a good idea! i was planning on throwing them away. And im working on a couple of other lowriders, that would be helpful. But how did you make hood scoops? Well, I used the top piece, traced out how I wanted it to look, cut and bent it all from one piece, I just made a simple, crappy looking, but effiecient scoop. I think I threw it away tho. dannysreallycool 12-24-2003, 04:18 PM MY NEW SITE IS UP AND RUNNING AND IT HAS THESE PICS AND MANY MORE!!!! i hope you guys like it.
