I recently had my driver door window regulator replaced and the outcome was much more than a working power window. After completed, I had a low level hum in my driver door main speaker when the key was not "on". I also noticed a crackling noise in my tweeter in my driver side rear passenger door tweeter when running. The hum in the front door goes away as soon as power is applied to the car through the key switch. The crackling in the back tweeter occurs mainly while accelerating or when turning lights or electronics on and off while driving.

To make the whole situation weirder, the memory seats no longer work. Also, when driving and "jamming" on the stereo very loudly, the seat all of a sudden moves to the "rearest", "lowest", home-like position. A pretty weird feeling while driving 80 on the interstate. Luckily I could still reach the peddles. After turning down the stereo, the seat can be adjusted normally but, again without memory.

All symptons are completely repeatable!!!

The body shop who did the replacement of the window regulator took the car to a car audio shop and they said the stereo amp was going bad. I think it is more than that. They checked the wiring harnesses and could not find any noticible shorts.

HELP!!!!!!

I noticed that most if not all of the wiring in the door goes through the window/mirrow switch console. Could something be wrong in this? Where is the actual memory positions of the seat located? Are they in the memory switches?

Based on my years in aircraft instrumentation in the Air Force, I'd say you have a bad ground somewhere, probably in the door. Inspect, clean, sand, wire brush, whatever it takes to get good grounds. Also, open the connectors and measure all pins that go to ground. Wiggle the cable to make sure the connection is rock solid. Once you find the problem, the fix will probably be easy, but finding it may not be an easy task. Good luck!

Well, I checked and double checked the wiring and cannot find a problem with the wires, connections or grounds. I am still wandering if the ground issue could be in the switch cluster in the door panel where all wires seem to come to. There must be more electronics in the cluster than just switches and mirror controls. Any other ideas out there?

Commonly when someone is not familiar with these door panels removes one, they mix up the connectors. If you notice some of the connectors are the same. I can't tell you for sure without seeing it, but if someone has been in the door, that is the FIRST thing I'd check

Does the one touch feature for the window still work? If not, the connectors are switched

Yes the one touch door feature does work, but the memory selector switches do not....did making the switches fix your problem? And do you think there are more connectors in there that could be switched? Thanks in advance.....

check the connector by the door hinges it should be an eight mm bolt ,removed it and disconect the harness and you will probebly see corrosion .
