95 GC dome light ( entry light)John493 12-20-2003, 02:15 PM My entry light ( dome lights) are on all the time & have had to take the bulbs out. Have tested all the door switches and switches on the lights themselves. Please can someone help me find the location of the relay or delay unit ? injunarts 12-21-2003, 07:35 AM You have door ajar switches on every door of your veh. When you open the door it is located at the front door opening on the body of the veh. Looks like a small shaft that is spring loaded and you can push it in with your finger. After a few years the contacts will get dirty and they stick or do not make good contact, this will cause the interior lights to stay on just like they do when you open any of your doors. Spray all of these and then move in and out with your finger. Hope this helps. Dave John493 12-21-2003, 09:29 AM Thanks Dave but I've already disconnected all four door switches and the lights are still on. That's why I'm looking for the relay. I suspect it might be in the roof console but I was hoping someone could confirm that before I start work. John tdenkler 12-23-2003, 12:45 AM in your overhead, there is an "keyless entry alarm board" @ 2" by 4". It also "activates" illuminated entry lights. If yo unplug, see if lights go out. If they do, that might resolve prob. however, while boards out, you have no keyless entry. There also is a relay in bottom of glove box that specifically controls illuminated entry. But lights would NOT work if blown. I think! you might take this relay out and bounce it off the floor(don't laugh it works) XJScott 01-23-2004, 07:42 PM in your overhead, there is an "keyless entry alarm board" @ 2" by 4". I thought about the door pins but they will not light up at all no matter what door is opened. I don't even have a cargo light! I do have my little map/reading lights though... You seem to know you'r shtuff...... Any thoughts? ponchonutty 01-23-2004, 07:54 PM Would these be the problem on my 98 Limited if the lights will NOT go on when the doors are opened? Try to disconnect the battery for 15min. to see if it will reset if you try the other things and it doesn't work. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
