just put in a used fuel pumd and float unit. the gas gauge reads empty when full and full when its actually empty.... the plug in switch on the unit only goes on one direction so i know thats in correctly. is there a reset that anyone knows of?

ok this is probably a ground problem. Ground the connector at the pump connector and see if the gauge goes to full . if it does the issue is at the sender if not , figure out which wire goes to the gauge and ground it at the cluster. that should tell you where the issue is.open is empty on sender units and ground is full. hope that helps
