engine problems

hi i am having a problem with my 96 gt with the 2.4 litre and when ever i start to accelerate all i can hear is a rattling sound or a ticking sound and i just had a new gm crate motor put in. :newburn:

can you be more spacific. Whats it sound like where is it coming from have you beat on the new motor?

the sound is coming from the motor and it only happens when i am shifting from 1st to 2nd and the to 3rd and then quiets down and i did not beat on the motor i drove it for 500 hundred and drove to my mechanic and had him do an oil change for the warrentte to work and then when i drove it from MA to AZ it started to make that noise and it is getting worse
