I recently put a 1.6L vtec engine from a Civic EX in my Civic DX in place of a 1.5L SOHC . I was wondering if the computer is compatable with the new motor without any modifacations.

Not in it's stock form. But you can run a rpm activated switch and chip in the fuel maps on yours to make it run like the P28. I'm not sure which way would be cheaper.

the engine has the solenoid switch along with an engine sensor. the plug coming from the ECU has the correctly color coded wires for the switch and sensor, but the wiring harness from the DX doesnt have the pins for the extra wires. would it be possible to run the motor without the VTEC connected or would that screw up other things. I also have the map sensor for the VTEC motor and the plug will fit.
