Hi
I have a 316i 94 with a blown head. I have found a new one but want to make sure i have the right one. The guy says it fits M40 engines. How do i tell what engine do i have???

check the 8th digit of the VIN #, that is usually the engine type

You do not have the M40, the M40 was phased out in 1992 ...
