I have located & removed the screws in the louvers, but I still can't remove the tail light unit. What kills me is that I have done this once before, but now I can't remember how I did it! Thanks for your help. rodam 12-27-2003, 09:36 AM ,,,you have to remove smaller screws that are attached to each section of light that needs to be replaced. Once the brake light assembly has been removed locate the smaller screws and remove them. Are there more than the two screws in the louvers? rodam 12-28-2003, 09:45 AM yeah, there's 4 screws to remove. 2 outboard, 2 inboard next to tailgate. matxdad 03-26-2009, 11:23 PM 2001 Rodeo Sport Remove the 2 philips screws in the louver area. Use flatblade screwdriver to gently pry the top of the light assembly away from the car - won't come completely out yet. Use flatblade screwdriver to gently lift the light assembly from the bottom. This will expose a phillips screw at the bottom the the light assembly. Pull out light assembly. Twist/pull out brake light holder Push/twist bulb to remove. Reverse above to reinstall.
