Are coilovers good if you want to raise/lower your car at will?

Coilovers are adjustable, so you can raise/lower your car as you like, correct? My concern is that during the winter/snowy season, having my car permanently lowered might not be a good idea. I'd like to be able to raise it back to stock height if there's a lot of snow on the ground. What do you guys think?
