Hey everyone, I don't know much about mechanics so I'm in need of some help or advice. It's -15 celsius up here in Fernie canada and My 86 escort seems to have siezed up! I tested the antifeeze a week ago and it's fine. The starter gives a quick repetitive clicking noice but nothing turns over. I'm waiting for a jump but I'm not sure thats the proble. it's a new battery and there seems to be lot's of power. Any advice for a mechanically-disabled rookie?

try tapping starter motor with something heavy when trying to start ,if no go try putting jump lead live to main terminal on starter,if still no go suspect starter.will the engine turn over in gear when pushed?
