Well I know this is probably old and has been beatin' to death by others and I am sure it has been asked a 1000 times over, but I NEED some vital information from the NISSAN forum experts. You see I am a Honda person I can't seem to answer the Nissan questions that my friend has for me. He currently owns a 1991 240SX Coupe AT. Now he wants to swap an JDM engine, but has come across different SR20DET engines. He can get a Bluebird engine with everything-ECU, Tranny, Engine, Wiring Harness and shift linkage. He can get this for $800 bucks! I was wondering what are the differences between all the SR20DET engines (besides the year they are manufactured and the car they came in). Is it reasonable to change a AT to a MT? What is the best engine to swap in this car...should he go ahead and get the Bluebird OR skip it and get another SR20DET (keep in mind that they are more expensive...don't know why?). If he decides to drop any engine that you might suggest what might be needed...and finally what engines from the NISSAN family best suite which car(s)! I want to thank those in advance who may give vital information that I am seeking...thanks...

The bluebird swaps are for the Nissan Sentra which is Front Wheel Drive. Why would he drop this into his Rear Wheel Drive 240sx? Also the Bluebird swap are also sr20det's with top mount intercooler insted of the side mounts that comes in the s13, rps13, ps13 and many other chassis style silvia's and 180sx's.
