Hi, I've got a '96 Civic EX that just up and died. Tracked it down to no spark. We've replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, ignition control module and computer! Ohmed out the coil and it meets the specs. Checked all the fuses etc, I'm kinda a loss here. Any ideas???

do you have power to the dizzy?have you tried the igniter?

Don't know what the "dizzy" is. Don't know where the ignitor is? Are these in the distributor?

the dizzy is your distributor.and the igniter could well be in it,depending on fitment.did you try for spark at the plugs,and also at king lead?

Do you mean from the coil (i.e. prior to rotor). Then no, no spark from coil and subsequently no spark to each cylinder. Prior to the coil, we do have 12VDC at the primary coil connections. We have done all the tests the Chiltons/Haynes says to do that test the ICM (which, basically if it passes all the voltage checks etc, the wiring/fusing is ok then it "must be" the ICM...so it's more of an elimination of other options rather than an ICM test per se). It sure seems like the coil isn't getting triggered to break down. Is there a pick up coil or reluctor setup that goes out? Should I just try replacing the whole distributor (to the junkyard tune of $150!)???

check rotor is turning_replace cap,put plug in end of lead ,earth outer body,crank over checking for spark-if none,try the same with ht lead from coil,.if no spark suspect rotor or dizzy.

Right, we've done that. We've put a plug in the end of the wire, grounded it and there is no spark. We haven't check directly from the coil, but the rotor is indeed turning. I'm just wondering if the crank trigger, cam sensor, computer, ICM, pickup coil etc., have anything to do with this before we keep shelling out $150 at a time to replace components that could be tested, not R&R'd. We've replaced the computer and ICM and don't necessarily want to replace the "dizzy" if I can test a pickup coil or "ignitor"

do try from the coil first,try the simple things first.to go further with the symptoms you have i would have to have-make/model/cc/type of inj/type of dizzy/engine number or code/ecu make.if not rotor,try crank sensor,but then it could be getting exspensive.poss dizzy though.emailing is a better way to contact me.
