Oil in Waternbijeaux 12-09-2003, 08:34 AM I have a 98 that has oi in the radiator water, l but does not have water in the oil. It runs fine and does not overheat. Any help would be appreciated. Anaudiophile 12-10-2003, 01:41 AM It seems that you have inherited a typical Neon headgasket leak. The most common leak on the 2.0L Sohc or Dohc is an external one down the back side of the engine block, but I have seen your scenario a few times before as well. Unfortunately, replacing a headgasket is not a cheap thing to do, but it is very necessary at this point. You will have to have a very thorough cooling system flush in order to clean out all of that engine oil too! If you look around for a few quotes you should expect labour times to be around 6.6 hours (SOHC) and 7.2 hours (DOHC). The head bolts should always be replaced when replacing the headgasket as well because they are a torque to yield type. You might be able to get by without them, but I wouldn't take that chance! Hope this helps! Polygon 12-10-2003, 11:28 AM It seems that you have inherited a typical Neon headgasket leak.
