The radiator cooling fans are constantly running on my '95 Park Avenue when the car is running. Even if the A/C is off, both fans run constantly....any ideas?

Are you using your defroster?

No, the defroster is not on. Just as a side note, they kick on as soon as the key is in the 'run' position. They NEVER shut off until you turn the car off. I appreciate all help. Thanks.

Last night I tried swapping the relays under the hood cowl around to see if the fans would stop running, but it didn't help.

If you are sure that you are in the correct location and that the fan relays are the ones you are swapping, the next step is to determine from where the ground for the relay is coming. isconnecting the wire to the ECM, is the fan still running? If so, the wire is grounded somewhere in the harness. If the fan stops, the ECM is the source of the ground, but that in itself does not condemn the ECM. It will likely require a scanner, but it will be necessary to determine why the ECM is requesting fan. You will need to check the engine coolant temp sensors and the A/C request line. If either are in the overheat/ yes category, the ECM is receiving a request from the engine. If no, the ECM is likely the culprit, likely a shorted driver. Ray

if i remember right, under the hood on the drivers side there is a in line fuse that is blown. the relay is normaly closed if no power is going to it.

also check the connection at the radiator/coolant temp switch if you disconect it the fan should run. this is like an overide if there is a prob. better to have radiator fans run all the time than not at all.
