:banghead: I'm the owner of an old 87 Nissan Patherfinder (6C / 3.0) and I need to replace/test the starter. I'm new to the world "do-it-yourself", so I am clueless as to where to find the Starter. I've heard towards the bottom of the engine, by the driver's side, and I've even tried to just follow my batter cables. Any suggestions or anyone with experience with this model?

Man your in for some fun I'm doing this right now and your best bet would be to take it to a shop.When you do locate the starter and get it all unbolted and disconnected (remember to disconnect the battery first)your either going to have to jack up the motor a smidgen or take off the exhaust manifold.
