Replacing drive belt on 2000 Jetta V6zealot 12-06-2003, 01:28 PM I probably should have let the shop handle this but it seemed like a lot of money to replace a belt and failed tensioner. Now I have the replacement parts in hand and remains of old tensioner removed. Problems now: Can't get old belt out. Can't find a safe jacking point so I can get under it to figure out how to get the old belt out (and what will allow me to put some slack in the belt path so I can get the new one in). Anybody done this? I am very surprised that my floor jack won't seem to slide under this car when it goes right under my lowered Alfa Spider. Any advice greatly appreciated, Tony M.
