Ferrari F50 Vs. Renntech SL7.4

How's this for a comparison? Take the F50 and put it up against a tuned SL and what do you get? All hell breaking loose! Here are a few specs!

F50 Vs. SL7.4

Engine: 60 valve V12 Vs. 7.4L V12
Horses: 513 Vs. 575
0-60: 3.7s Vs 4s
Top speed: 202 mph Vs. 200mph

The F50 seems to have the edge, but I think it will all come down to the driver!

Why take a Benz if you can have a limited edition $500,000 Ferrari?

Heep...isn't that 560K?:o And, even if you got the cash lying around you had to be approved by Ferrari first, and then go under a strict leasing agreement as the only way to get one (couldn't just pay for it!).

But the essence is right...... F-50 for sure!!!!!!!!!

I didn't ask what car you would take. I said which car would win in a race.

Oh, yeah....somehow I imagine that handling and overall driving experience would be much greater in the Ferrari...not to mention looks (IMO by far!).

Oh, yes, according to Supercars.net (who is fairly reliable for having inaccurate info) the SL will only go 180!

Actually, I took the specs for the SL off of the official Renntech site so I'm sure they are accurate.

The F50 would win in a race. First it is basically an F1 car for the road. It was designed for people that like going to the track and pushing there bodys limits through a light weight pure sport Ferrari. I don't know the exact weight of the Brabus but the F50 should corner much better.

Cool topic BRABUS. ;)

Actually the SL7.4 is a Renntech model, not a Brabus. I do agree however that the F50 would out do the SL on the track but what if the two pulled up on a red light? It's up to the driver now! :D

No you didn't...you elluded to it, but you didn't say race. It sounded like an overall thing to me.

But, assuming you did only want racing....hmmmm....let's see.....nope, not a chance of me changing my mind.

BRABUS, you seem somewhat on edge in this thread. Settle down.:)

F50 for sure.
In the end, I think everyone agrees that they are a different class.;)

It just seemed as though you were quite offended by me "taking" a car. That's all.

um... if you all look at the stats, the two cars, for being from two diff classes...
are damn close...
and the renntech is more streetable...
but the f50 is not some superkiller... it is a car, just like every other car...
it isnt impossible to beat it, just improbable
:licker:

If the F50 is just a car, than the Grand Canyon is just a ditch. :o

true... the grand canyon is a ditch... especially from outer space

i dint mean that it is just a car, like a paseo is just a car, but that it is a mortal object, and can be surpassed. it isnt god. some will argue, but everyone seems to have a preconceived notion that since it is a ferrari, and an f50 no less, that it will destroy anything. that isnt always the case. that is what i was implying.
it isnt about the name, it is about the numbers, and both cars have amazing numbers. so they are close. that is what i was trying to say.

Well, the F50 has better straight line performance and will have much much better handling. Winner: F50

i am assuming that most of us are going by simple numbers here, and i may be wrong...
but how many of us have actually driven either car to say that the handling is better?
yes, an f50 has amazing handling, but from every renntech test that i have seen the handling numbers are pretty damn good, so i wouldnt count it out completely... just a thought

I still say the F50.

flylwsi

i dont necessarily disagree...
but it seems that everyone is just going for the hands down, win b/c its a ferrari route.
the renntech isnt just some car, it is a highly capable car worthy of comparison to an f50. it just seems that no one is taking that into consideration... ya know?
i think that overall, as a car to drive, the renntech is a better daily car, but for pure excitement, f50.
but then again, you expect the f50 to knock your socks off... whereas the renntech is amazing, b/c benzes are luxo mobiles...

that is what i am gettin at...

Well, the lateral g's for the renntech is .85...compared to the Ferrari (which is also mid-engined and capable of producing enough downforce at high speeds to keep it glued to the road if the road were to corkscrew!) which is 1.03.
