My Jeep returns code 12 on both the OD light flashing and Check engine flashing.
Per 42RE manual, indicates output sensor failure. code is a stored code, not active. Found bared wire on neutral start connector that seems to be the problem.
My question is: Is the code flashing on OD light which monitors the Transmission control module(TCM) being echoed through engine PCM(which monitors everytjing else) to the "check engine" light?
Hoping someone sharper on these codes might shed some light.

Going back to Toms post above, where is this neutral switch located? I bought a Haynes manual a few weeks ago but I'm still sketchy on it's where abouts. Thanks in advance-
