does anyone know whether smaller tires / wheels can be mounted on the 2002 530i w/ sport package. the current wheels are 17x8 (20mm off-set) with 235/45/17. i am concerned with the off set of the new wheels which are 16x7(15mm off-set) w/ tires 225/55/16. also it seems with 17" wheels the speedo calibration may be off(?) and if ride height is lowered with the sport suspension.
Thank You!

You can buy such a combo at Tire Rack. (http://www.tirerack.com/snow/SnowSelectWheelSize.jsp?autoMake=BMW&autoModel=530i+Sport+Package&autoYear=2001&autoModClar=)

thanks,

i eventually got OER wheels(new) BMW style #82 (wide diamond spoke) and dunlop winter sport M2 tires from aaarims.[ 225/55R/16 (16x7 w/20mm offset]. the package w/ shipping ~ 1100$. one wheel however seems out-of-balance. i had them (all) re-balanced and the fronts moved to the back; still around ~72-75 mph, there is a slight vibration. i think that tire may need re-mounting.
the center caps for these wheels by-the-way ran about 43$. each.
