NoiseLatina 12-04-2003, 11:49 AM Hello all. I've been lurking here for a while now and decided to register. I need your help. I purchased by '04 Grand Cherokee in August. About 3 or 4 weeks later I started hearing a very low noise coming from the front end (passenger side). That noise has since gotten worse. It's a awfully terrible grinding noise (sort of like metal on metal). This noise happens when I go over bumps. I took it in for service 2 weeks ago and was told that they heard nothing and found nothing wrong. Well, here I am 2 weeks later....I leave home this morning to take my son to school and there's a huge puddle of anti-freeze on the ground. Once again I called my dealership but they can't take my car in until tomorrow. Has anyone experinced this sort of noise before? All replies are truly appreciated. Boostjunky 12-04-2003, 12:06 PM sounds like a bad water pump. try loosening the belt and looking for a wobble in the water pump pulley. WolfPup 12-10-2003, 01:43 PM why would the water pump make the noise when going over bumps? does the noise happen when it's cold outside (less than 50F)? does it sound like a creaking noise when going over bumps? I have a similar problem, but don't have the coolant leak. I'm not even sure it's a related issue. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
