There is no "coupe". I suppose it depends on wording. ??

You can modify anything with enough money. $$

It's not easy, nor have I seen, a 6th GEN Celica, converted to AWD.. Such things as the gas tank location, etc.. don't match the floor pan.

It's much better to purchase the real GT-Four if you can. Here in the U.S. we only have ST165 and ST185. I'd love to have the chance to buy a ST205. (6th gen)

Yes i mean 1994-1999 Celica GT-Four (4WD/AWD/All Trac)
with the driver seat in the "normal side" :)
LHD... like in the U.S.A. for a price under $10k USDollars

Yes, some European countries are LHD.

So, yes there are LHD, ST205's (GT-Four) available.

It's my only hope of ever having a LHD model. :(

Search hard. Start by referncing which countries are LHD in Europe. Then, start looking. I've seen a handful of LHD ST205's over the years.

I've never seen a GT-FOUR coupe before. The Coupes over in Japan / Europe were considered "Currens" and had different front headlights & such. Some people do the conversion on their 6th gen celicas.

if i get an ST205 can the engine be swap with a camry V6 3L?

ST205 = awd, turbo
ST204 = fwd, n/a

ST205 = more money

It is extremely difficult with the "floor plan" being so different. It would cost a lot of money to fab.

ie: where to stuff the driveshaft, rear diff, gas tank location...

anything is possible... but why? $$$$$

Find the real deal, you'll be MUCH happier. :)

In the last 6 years, I have not seen 1 AWD conversion... :(

It is not a bolt on project.

It would take a lot of custom work to fab.

it's difficult to find a GT-Four where i live... (in the whole country there is only 5.5 mio. people) so if i want one then i have to get it from germany or some of those countrys.

It is very simple to drive an AWD vehicle.

Many of the same principles with tuning the 3rd gen 3S-GTE , as with the 1st and 2nd gen.

1st gen 3S-GTE came in ST165 Celica GT-Four (87-89)

2nd gen 3S-GTE came in ST185 Celica GT-Four (90-93)

3rd gen 3S-GTE came in ST205 Celica GT-Four (94-99)

Not too much talk of AWD conversions, but some 3S-GTE transplant info.

I imagine the amount of time and money it takes to make a ST20x into a ST205, would be more then what it would take to just purchase the ST205.

yes, of cause i would like to have the real deal..

but if i want a original 6th gen GT-Four it's gonna cost me 250k-330k DKr. (36k-48k USDollars)

and a standard 6th gen celica is only 100k-110k DKr. (15k-16k USDollars)

the reason being that the cars are so damn expensive, is that, that the government tribles the cost of the vehicles so young people can't get there hands on some of the nice cars... (not completely true but they does it to get more money....)
also it doesn't help that the GT-Four is REALLY rare in LHD specs, there are only three people in denmark (that i know of) that have a GT-Four...

It's kind of the same with you guys and Skylines...

The insurance companys are simply scared of young drivers with a car like that and then the cars is really, really expensive in insurance....

Well that's just life....

I can't wait to move from this country...

I understand what you mean now. ;( I'd still try though, as I've NEVER seen a complete conversion.

There's a lot more that the ST205 chassis has already. Supporting mods, headlight washers, etc...
I really wouldn't try a conversion. Too much hassle...

I cannot comment on an engine swap.. I wouldn't in a million years, put anything else in the GT-Four.

The 3S-GTE can be tuned to over 800BHP.

IMHO, there is no other engine. :)

if ur still lookin to get a 6th gen...i have a web site where itz $4327...itz in Japan though....but with shipping.....should be about $9k, which includes the price of the car, to bring it to the states

Finding the LHD ST205 is the task at hand.

I have turned my st202 into a gt four full conversion took me about 2 1/2 months to complete and it is lhd

i have seen a complete conversion b4... a company had a US model and made it a complete 6th gen jdm gt4 other than it being lhd.... it was actually on ebay a couple months ago, i dont kno where u can find it or any other information on it... it didnt actually interest me that much other than they wanted over 18,000 for it

ive seen an st-184 turned into an st-185... theres massive problems with them tho...like you may not (im not saying cannot just most likely never) ever be able to have the car aligned properly, as well as vibrations at high speeds

WHAT!!!!!!....that much difference, wow, thats alot. Theres only about £1000 difference here, you can pick up a Jap Import GT4 6th Gen for around £6000 all in. ($14,695 aus). 5th gen GT4`s go from £2500 - £5000 for a top condition one in show condition

damn way too, 30K? You could just have someone go over there find one and import back for cheaper!

to be honest it would only be an extra 2k to inport a car over, but then there the charges to legalize it and get it smoged

Due to the new import laws the government put through, it is impossible to import a 6th Gen to Australia unless its purely for racing.

the 5th Gen GT4's can go for as cheap at 9 grand AUS.
