Love the colour and wheel combo,the R32 in my opinion would have to be the classic of all skylines, i think it has the most agressive front end compared to the rest. this should be a nice build up.

Not exactly true blue, Pro stock drag cars run v8's that are naturally aspirated and push 1500whp, some of the cars have nitrous for that extra punch, not saying that they need it, just saying that it's ok for them to have it.

No, I'm pretty sure when the JEG's car was a mid 90's cutlass coupe it had ZEX in it, but that was way back when. My friend, Joe, has a 8second cutlass (84') that has N20, I belive he has it classed as being Pro-Stock, however he's a weekend warrior, not a pro.

Thats one clean engine bay!! love seeing this type of work. Love the subtle details like hose clamps,airbox,air flow meter,strut brace, sensors etc... this engine really comes alive, cant wait to see it finished.

Wow, thanks guys, I never expected the Master's praise :biggrin: I am really beginging to like Skylines... As you know there are not too many of them here in the US, so never had a chance to drive one, but I really like making the models, especially ones with the engine.

I like it. The Sparco's....where are they from?

Sparco's are from a Ford Focus WRC kit. They are Tamiya items. I think they are some of the best plastic racing seats in 1/24 scale I have ever seen!

I use a lot of different parts from various kits to achieve a desired effect. The Sparco Torino seats in WRC kit are great seats and would fit into any 1:1 car. I know that using Ford parts in the engine would be rather Sacriligious, but in the interior one part is as good as another.. BTW the steering wheel is also from a FOrd kit ;)

I am working on the ram air set up, but I need a surround. Anyone has any ideas on fabrication of said surround that would go in place of the headlight?

ALso I cracked my right headlight cover (clear plastic piece) I don't suppose anyone has any of those laying around :naughty:

I guess I will just have to cover it with clear epoxy to simulate headlight cover.. :(

Those Aoshima clear parts are sure fragile.

Fabbing would probably be the best. To let you know Fujimi makes an R32 kit with the passenger side "stack" headlight.

Maybe you can use the standard headlight (without the cover) and drill a hole in it to make your intake ?

This car is looking great. The detail is incredible. For the intake in the light, the best would just to be cutting a hole is a styrene cover. Or in the original headlight. Or by molding it in putty. I don't really know... One thing, the center line on your steeringwheel isn't in the center... You wouldn't want your car turning slightly left forever, would you?

That's kinda funny. You used a German number plate, but the little "A" decal stands for Austria! :icon16:

BTW: How did you do the white/red/black thing saying "Nissan" on the top of the motor? Is it painted or a decal?

lol was just joking... i'm just a huge fan of the Focus WRC and found it odd that you would use a seat from that kit rather than building it :)... other than that... keep up the killer work... cant wait to see the finished headlight/intake thinger :)

Thanks for all the great comments. I went with Kansai service because of the hood :biggrin: And the wheels, and a roll cage and the fact that I like Aoshima more than FUjimi :naughty:

The engien bay color is testors mettalizer aluminum plate and the interior color is sea grey from Tamyia military flat colors collection, with a semi-gloss clear overspray.

Next thing to tackle is to finish up the racing interior (I already put the roll cage together, will also add Nitrous tanks and a fire bottle.)

ALso going to have to work on the headlight intake problem.

1. The tach can be seen on the very first photo of the real R32 in Japan. THey are used for racing applications. I am attemtpting to replicate the vehicle in the photo (aside form the rims), therefore I used a tach.

2. The decals on the side are by no means an "American brand" decals as they include Sparco, Brembo, HKS and Pirelli. They are the normal sponsor style decals you would find on any weekend racer. Additioanly I am using ZEX bottles for NOS and I am using Eibach "style" red springs so They are appropriate.

3. I like the airbox "stock" look, but I am doing a ram air type of set up through the opening headlight to allow more airflow, in the style of HKS and Kansai.

4. RB26 coverscan be painted any way the owner wants, while you are right, the stock cover is black, I have seen gold, lilac, blue, silver, chrome and red used. I chose red to emphasise performance feel.

You can get any spring company to custom wind a spring for you to whatever lbs/in you like and for whatever length you like and whatever diameter you like... if you have a Skyline, you're allowed to do whatever you like to it, as far as I'm concerned. Except put an APC sticker on it, then I'd have to liberate the Skyline....

Your car looks great. Never tire of Skylines even though I am a diehard Honda fan. Got to love anything fast... I love the gold on that car, so much that between your car and one I saw on the same site you drew inspiration from, I've decided to paint my R32 gold with a silver hood. Yeah, I know, not original but I like it a lot! Your detail is great, too, and craftsmanship is top notch. I love it. The only nitpick I got is the shift light stuck on the tach is oversized, but, eh? Who cares. The rest of the model is so close to perfect that it ain't no thang.

Everything looks so awesome. The engine in it is just kickass, the interior is awesome, and the paint job is totally sweet. I can't wait till this car is done.
