is a turbo faster with an automatic, most people i talk to say no but i went to where my friends dad is having his supra built and the twins buiding it said they wanted to put a automaic 2speed on it. what do you think, auto or manual?

auto 2 speed??? Sounds like a drag car only. If you have insanely high hp then yeah an auto would keep your engine in the powerband by quicker shifts, rather than you having to fumble with a stick. My friend has a 400hp Accord LX and it revs so fast the only way he can possibly drive it is with his auto tranny because of how quickly it blows through the gears.

yeah it only has one turbo on the supra a 74 or something and when he bought it, it came with a parashoot. it is supposed to be one of the fastest "streetlegal" (dont know how that is possible after hearing what all they are doing to the car) supra's in America. He was going to race it in the NHRA sport compact finials but the twins didnt finish it in time, and still arent done, if you ever see a red supra running 9sec. then thats it

so your saying that in automatic vs. manual it really depends on the hp. that is behind the tranny?

we are about to start a custom turbo kit on a 99' integra ls automatic, i will let you know how it goes, we are going to just let the trans brake where it will and then address the problems accordingly.

an auto trans set up properly will run great, i am a fan of manual transmissions. if you need you can always swap it to a manual.

For the street a stick is better and more fun. At the track an auto is better.
A turbo only creates boost when there is a load on it. So, having an auto you can ''power brake'' off the line and be at instant 5+ PSI boost(if you can get traction). Manuals can do that too, but you better have a few spare clutches laying around because you will burn one up awful quickly by slipping the clutch that much.
