My wife's new 2004 Stratus R/T was running fine until yesterday. With a bit less than 1000 miles on the odometer, I started it up and it idled at around 1300 rpms! I shut it down, popped the hood and noticed the coolant overflow tank was empty. I opened the radiator and it was full, so I simply added coolant to the overflow tank. I doubt the two things are related, but the car is still idling too high when cold. It does settle down after a few minutes. No trouble codes have been set (no service engine soon lamp). Any ideas what's up with this thing??? Thanks in advance.

With cold wisconsin winters I see the same thing. I know a couple of mornings at -10 F the motor would idle at 1300-1500 until warm.

I have a 2002 R/T and this is normal, if the warm idle is 800-900 why do you think 1300 rpm is excessive on a cold morning? Mine idles at approx 1300 for a min or two then comes down to the 850 area.
