I have been doing a bit of research lately, and came to the realization that a custom turbo setup for an h22 would be somewhat affordable at my income level (which is low).

My question to the elite on AF is: what would be an idea setup for this engine?

Maybe something DSM? A t3/t4?

I would custom make the downpipe, and maybe have the manifold made, or fabricate different flanges to an existing manifold.

What expenses will I be looking at? What other parts will go into this?

I'm not looking to run super high boost. Just enough to get by on stock internals. 6 PSI until I upgrade internals (if i upgrade).

*I also request that a mod split this thread between here and the forced induction forum.*

the ideal way is to go with something along the lines of a t3/t4 or to-4e but the budget sometimes makes you have to go with a mitsu turbo. if you start with a 14-B and then upgrade it to a 16g you could make 275-300+ with the mitsu setup, you will still have an internally gated setup though. what is your buget?

budget varies depending on what kind of work i get into next summer. i'm probably looking at about 1000 - 1500 dollars.

to give you an idea we offer a custom intercooled turbo kit installed for $2000.00 that is using the 14-b "remanufactured" a mitsu Starion FMIC 1st gen elcipse bov and everything else custom. if you are in the Knoxville, TN region we can help if that is too far you now have a baseline to look in your area.

Yea, a little too far.

Is that price after tax, overhead, labor? I'd be doing all the work myself.

Just to get an idea, what am I looking for in an intercooler as far as dimensions, quality, intlet/outlet size? How about the actual tubing?

I take it this is the starion IC you are talking about:

Any idea what fits best in a 4gen prelude?

starion is correct, i can sell you everything that you need right down to the piping and flanges, give me a call after the hollidays and we will talk voice, that is easier to get all of the details out of the way.
