93 Rodeo 4L30E A/T Code 33lostvisionary 11-23-2003, 06:53 PM I have not nailed down the complete symptoms yet... basically the check transmission light flashes when deccelerating or running but halted. I have only seen it twice, and I haven't been looking at the right time to catch it when the flashing started... silly me, my eyes were on the road. In both cases, I put the tranny in park, shut the engine off, and restarted... things were ok after. It seems like something electrical, but I would love to hear feedback on the problem or about any known bulletins... I did find the 3-pin diagnostis connector and grounded the pin used to flash the error codes. Only two occured - the standard Diagnostic mode 12 and code 33(force motor circuit shorted to B+ - current above 1.5A). SO it feels like it could be a short outside... I am hoping for the cheaper fix. Anyway, the wiring harness looks good as it wanders to the front of the vehicle and then generally becomes a bit harder to follow(I just got my hand out of cast and am struggling still to do anything 2-handed). Are there any obvious places to look(perhaps some place where wiring is obviously at risk along/near the drive train) before I have to get out my checkbook and pay too much for a simple fix? Thanks for any feedback.... AndyHall 05-03-2004, 08:22 AM Came across your posting just recently ( 3/5/2004) and was interested if you have solved the problem. I have exactly the same problem with the same symptoms on my 94 Trooper. I fitted a new force motor and filter in the tranny and filled it with new oil. I hadn't seen the problem again for the last 5 months. Now it's back again !! I don't think it's a wiring problem but more likely a hydraulic line pressure problem which doesn't allow the 2-1 change just before coming to a halt ( doesn't always happen...1 in 40 stops maybe). Anyway, did you have any luck with your Rodeo.... regards, Andy Hall, 3.2 V6 Opel Monterey ( Trooper) Holland vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
