Hi i have a accord 98 Ex 4 cylinder - i was at my friends house earlier today, as i was leaving i got in the car started it up - Went for the gear to slide it in drive - it wouldn't move! After trying a few things nothing seemed to work - so i had to really force it into drive while shaking the gear.

Now i made it home and the problem is still there - any suggestions to what it can be?

When i did end up forcefully sliding it into drive it didn't make any strange noises and i have to shake the gear a bit when its in park but the gear button goes in all the way which lets me slide it into drive.

get teh transy flushed or looked at, it might be one part of the trans that's broke, but it sounds like what happened when i had an 87 BMW 325is and that transy was messed up. All i could do is put the car in reverse.
