Thanx in advance ~ Andyman :grinno:If it's the original high compression engine with 2 barrel, around 260hp. with 4 barrel 290hpif it's the rare Ram air 400 360hp. When my Firebird was stock with 2 barrel, 400 2:72 gearing auto I got almost 21 MPG. now with a 427 BBC, 4:10's 4 spd. closer to 10 MPG. Ken_of_York 02-07-2004, 09:08 PM Latest issue of Hemmings Muscle Cars has a review of the 68 Firebird 400 H.O. It lists stock rating at 335 horsepower and 430 lbs of torque. Also, it states that the 4 barrel on Firebirds has a restrictor to prevent 4 barrel from opening completely. No mention of M.P.G. rating. That is very dependant on the rear gear. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
