Can I use Bosch Platinum Plugs in the J30?

I've been reading the other Infinity posts and saw what happened when Bosch Platinum +4 were installed.

Is the J30 engine as picky as the Q45 engine with spark plugs?

I recently changed the plugs on my J30 with standard Bosch Platinum plugs and it seems to be running fine. But then again I just put them in and have less than 200 miles on them.

I just replace the OEM NGK (76K) with a set of AUTOLITE platium (from Walmart) and it runs great and car response much better than the old plugs. It is only $2 each!

I installed a set of the Bosch midline plugs, not the plus4. The car performed OK, but there was not as much power at full acceleration as I had with the NGK's. I pulled the bosch and reinstalled NGK's and the performance is now great again. So I would not do it. BTW I run the bosch plugs in my other cars and they are great.

OK, you can replace the spark plugs with any type you want, however I have had several independent and car dealrship mechanics all tell me the same thing which is the following parts should be repalced with orginal factory parts, they are:

> timing belt
> spark plugs
> some other misc item such as seals and certin fluids
> oil filter

I generally live by the first three and occasionally deviate from the the last.

I used the ngk 7090 platinum plugs on my 95 j30 and they worked great. They are not the laser welded ones that cost $18-20. I got them from carquest for 3.60 each. The other number for them is bkr5egp, I got the information from ngk.com website and they charge less for the plugs.

What is the spark plug gap for J30? I have 95 model. I couldn't find this info anywhere in the manual. I don't have the service manual, and I went to PepBoys and they didn't have one...
