1982 honda accord, need opinions

Ok, im getting a 1982 honda accord LX 4 door, no power doors, windows, locks, or anything like that. 90,000 miles, OK shape, noticable but not severe damage, normal cloth seat wear/tear, some carpet stains, I know it needs engine work but it runs fine, Im getting it completely free. I'm an american car (chevy) kinda guy and dont know much about hondas so i wanted some tips about what i should do to it to make it look better, and not make it fast, but increase performance.

wow, a 1982, that's old school to just about anyone here :). I've got a friend with a 83, and I thought that was pretty old school. Mostly just the basic kinda stuff, paint and simple cosmetic stuff. Pretty much the kind of car that I'd just drive and not put any money into. I mean, they're cool cars, but eh, really old :). 90,000 miles for a 82 is just amazing though
