Those were sold in the USA and infact BMW supplied that diesel engine to Ford.

If a diesel has any issue with running it is a pump issue.

Usually a timing issue, but an injector pump timing issue.

Check with a Ford dealer or search on some of the other BMW WEB sites for 525td.

Are you not thinking of the 524d. pre 1990 approx. The engine was licensed to Ford - put into the
Range Rover (Euro markets)- I dont think it was never used in the US.
