I just bought a 04 Honda Civic EX. I love the car. It rides good and the handling is great. I love the new front shape and the general change in the body. But I just drove from my house to my friend's house and I detected a consistant thumping sound like the one you get when your driving over a bumpy road. So I thought maybe it was the road but...it does that on every road I take. Any similar situation? and how to fix it?

Don't mess around with the new cars, take it back to the dealer and have them check it out asap.

Thank you. I really think the car looks so much better this year. Guess I bought it on time  .

I just tried going over a new asphalt to see if itz actually the road or not. I found that the thumping sound dissappears most of the time (still there) but whenever I step on the brakes the brake pedal gets a pulse like the one that you get from an ABS. The pulse is too slow to be the ABS and it can't be the road since the pulse is consistant with perfect rythm (once every 1/2 sec.). The pulse feels exactly when your car goes over a tiny bump on the road. I try so hard not to step on the brakes or go over 3000RPM till the car brakes in :frown: (1000 miles till brake in and currently on my 741miles). Any ideas?

really nice. one thing thats pullin me away from gettin that is the fact that they lack power and that you cant really do shit to make it faster. im pissed that honda had to tone done the motor because of the its goal to be more friendly to the environment

A-1Performance, you can do alot to make that car faster, besides swaping in a K20 motor, you can build the current D17 motor, I'm sure it has plenty of potential. :)

Yeah the .1 extra liters over the old D's has opened an entirely new realm of endless possibilities

JDM'ized 92-95's were always my favorites. The EK ctr on Gran Turismo3 looks cool as hell though, love the daytime runners.

Well I'm gonna have to agree with the no power thing. The civic really is slow but I didn't buy the car for performance. As long as a car can pull itz own weight and has enough power to push through fast lane itz good enough. Besides I'm saving much of money on gas :) .

Not gonna mod it so don't have to worri bout me crippin up next to anyone and burnin em. Unless I'm in my S2000. It'll be a whole different story than heh heh.

Incase anyonez interested herez a photo of my S

Well...Racing is my hobby and hopfully it'll become what I do for a living but...I gotta admit the thing is a ticket magnet and not really good for horrifying weather.

Civicz more appripriate for my needs for now. S2000 wil be garaged till I have more free time away from school.

I would get like a 91 hatch Si or something then, if it's just for a winter beater.. Looks like you have money to wipe your ass with though, so a newer Si would be a great choice for the cold white months.

I finally figured out the thumping noise on my civic. I was driving to shop for food at local groceries and my whole steering wheel starts to pull hard to the left. I figure since itz heavily raining at the time perhaps it was the road. Just than my car sinks a little than starts hopping a bit. My damn front driver side tire blew. I can't see any slashes or damages done intentionally and the tire seems intact. SOMEONE at Honda didn't mount the tire correctly on the wheel and tire lost pressure and over time it just gave out. The damn thing has less than a thousand miles on it for cring out out. How the hell is a brand new car get a damn flat even before the enginez broken in... Honda Dealership better fix this. Don't the civic come with tire warrenty or something?

I'll post some pictures up tomorrow of the car with the temp. wheel on

Just broke in the engine (1000miles) and I was sooooo excited. I went to the nearest highway and drove like a mad man. Fastest speed was 118mph and I estimate the top speed is around 125mph on the Civic EX coupe.

kewl beans hs2k2nr! kick ass s2k man. btw i have to say, the best year civic has to be the 92-95's...if you look from the side...it almost looks like a shark :sly: but anywayz probably after thanksgiving, its being traded in for a 2k4 ex coupe...sad to say really since the 94 was my first...ill always look back to all the parts and screws left behind after installations...btw does anyone know of any parts (halo headlights possibly) for the new 2k4? btw ill take a pic of the beat-up 94 and post them before i get rid of it.
