I like how the rims match, and think the ride hide is on the dot! 86_SR5 11-15-2003, 10:30 PM Where did you get that cool Chevrolet plate to replace the rear seat? I like how the rims match, and think the ride hide is on the dot! yeah where?? btw color, white with red flames. I've seen this 66 impala SS by this guy Joe's house, it's fine. EMAXX 11-15-2003, 10:35 PM That looks awesome dude. I love that Chevrolet plate. Like some other people asked, where did you get it? Keep us posted. I can't wait till this is done. ProSStreet 11-15-2003, 10:44 PM hehe, thanks for the replies. as for the plate, believe it or not it came in the kit. Before i opened it i already planned to build my own, but i got lucky and it had one already with chevrolet on it, JAckPOt! Purpura Delujo 11-15-2003, 11:38 PM Sweet! I'd say black, but you know, that's just me. weaponCIVIC 11-16-2003, 01:24 AM i say get some diff rims, those look a little to small imo CamaroSSBoy346 11-16-2003, 10:29 AM is this a revell kit, and is that an AFX scale resin hood? 86_SR5 11-16-2003, 12:28 PM is this a revell kit, and is that an AFX scale resin hood? I think he said it was scratch built mike. Bloodhound 11-17-2003, 03:11 AM Think of it this way, weaponcivic; The less wheel you have, the more tyre you can fit under the car's arse! :lol2: I think the cowl hood goes up a bit too far, but all the same this is gonna look totally nuts. bigblockss 11-17-2003, 07:38 AM i belive it is the amt kit the revell kit was green the amt kit was the better kit keep goin the way u r its gonna be sick i would still lower it 86_SR5 11-17-2003, 04:28 PM I think it should be lowered to give it a pro-mod look. 86_SR5 11-17-2003, 04:29 PM Think of it this way, weaponcivic; The less wheel you have, the more tyre you can fit under the car's arse! :lol2: I The taller tire you have, the more power needed to push the car. bobby28384 11-17-2003, 05:26 PM Mmmmm, that looks great! Chevelles were SUCH good cars. What scale is it? 1:24 of 1:25? :sly: ProSStreet 11-17-2003, 06:25 PM well, im gunna kill a few birds with one stone with this pic http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=500/101777rollcage.jpg theres the cage, it looks bluish but its actually grey. yes the cowl hood was build by me 86_SR5 11-17-2003, 07:26 PM No way you hand built that cage. bigblockss 11-17-2003, 09:06 PM the cage is the 1 supplied in the kit i have the very same kit the hood looks great i would lower the ridge a little thou ProSStreet 11-17-2003, 09:25 PM yeah the cage came in the kit, and im currently working on more putty/sand work on the hood and the ridge will be less defined. Ill post a pic once i get it re-primered 86_SR5 11-17-2003, 09:46 PM so, what's the planned color for this? jgmodelcars 11-17-2003, 11:39 PM Hmm... I like the cowl hood a lot. I was gonna start my aristo after I finish my current project (bright pink mopar) but the hood makes me want to begin another muscle car! Great Work! :bigthumb: ProSStreet 11-18-2003, 12:24 AM my god, im doing some test fits with the roll cage and other stuff, i dont know how the hell im gunna get the body on without cracking the car apart, anyone else done this kit that can give a few pointers? anyway, im thinkin black for color now, maybe not, i dunno. Honoturtle 11-18-2003, 01:02 AM my god, im doing some test fits with the roll cage and other stuff, i dont know how the hell im gunna get the body on without cracking the car apart, anyone else done this kit that can give a few pointers? anyway, im thinkin black for color now, maybe not, i dunno. Are you sure? Aren't all the parts mainly from the kit? I've never seen that box before, this must be a rare kit, no? jgmodelcars 11-18-2003, 02:26 AM yeah i've never really had perfect luck with muscle car kits from brands like revell, amt etc. they always make you stretch the body and you think its gonna brake apart but... it won't i've done it many a time!, try sliding the interior in front to back or back to front, and working the back down in the slowing separating the sides of the body back to front popping it into place. Hope this helps, if not i can get some demonstration pics! Good luck! ps: black sounds killer! 86_SR5 11-18-2003, 04:01 PM Honestly, you all that claim revell, and amt (a division or ertl, amt is; no relations to revell-monogram) are purchasing bad kits from bad retailers, honestly, AMT does have nice kits, if most of them were mechanically correct, it would be very nice. dag65 11-18-2003, 05:48 PM Man , now you make me wish I had not kitbashed mine :disappoin :disappoin Love the look, Duplicolor has a nice Deep Metallic Red almost a cranberry color that would look really good [Are you sure? Aren't all the parts mainly from the kit? I've never seen that box before, this must be a rare kit, no?]Not rare but I believe its OOP now. If you can find it AMT issued a 3 car set with this car a 66 or 67 Nova and a 67 Implala SS that came with a really nice TPI engine. I kit bashed all of them and now I wish I had another set. THe best part was that I got it at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 price which was like $11 for 3 complete kits Work the interior in very carefully, most of my AMT and REvell kits are a tight fit, but with a little TLC and patience they go in fine jgmodelcars 11-18-2003, 11:35 PM Honestly, you all that claim revell, and amt (a division or ertl, amt is; no relations to revell-monogram) are purchasing bad kits from bad retailers, honestly, AMT does have nice kits, if most of them were mechanically correct, it would be very nice. O no, i wasn't saying that i didn't like revell kits, i actually enjoy them! But i was just saying i didn't always have luck with fitting the bodies. I mean they don't fit like tamiyas or aoshimas, but with a lil' finagling they are perfectly good kits! :iceslolan 86_SR5 11-19-2003, 03:52 PM O no, i wasn't saying that i didn't like revell kits, i actually enjoy them! But i was just saying i didn't always have luck with fitting the bodies. I mean they don't fit like tamiyas or aoshimas, but with a lil' finagling they are perfectly good kits! :iceslolan Well that's why I dislike Tamiya models, they are hella expensive, go together like so easily (presents no challenge) and usually don't have an engine. When I buy a revell kit, I know it'll take some fiddling to get everything just right, and that presents a challenge, doesn't it? I mean, isn't the whole purpose of building a model to give you a challenge?? Purpura Delujo 11-20-2003, 05:27 AM Sweet! Damn I want that kit now jsut to build it as a stock 396 and then keep all those Prostreet parts for something else. Yeah, do it black!! It'll look bad ass in black with that phat ass cowl hood! Double_S 11-20-2003, 10:26 PM Looks good so far. Especially the hood! ProSStreet 11-20-2003, 11:37 PM Just keepin you all updated: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=503/101777misc.jpg heres a pic of the seats and wheelie bar pieces jgmodelcars 11-21-2003, 12:22 AM nice work! did you make those wheelie bars or are the aftermarket or from a kit? ProSStreet 11-21-2003, 12:43 AM I pulled those straight out of the box. Quite a lot of toothpic painting those little buggers though. 86_SR5 11-21-2003, 12:23 PM Like the seat belts, but they seem thin, still looks real good, btw check out my Fujimi Drift Machine if ya want to. Building an Old School 4dr drfiter:) ProSStreet 11-23-2003, 10:11 PM another update http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=503/101777Interior.jpg as you can see i had to use a lot of glue to get the cage on. I had to spread it apart to get it to the appropriate spot. Probably no more updates for a week or so, Relatives are coming for thanksgiving this week. Cheers 86_SR5 11-23-2003, 10:27 PM niiice. SchuberT 11-23-2003, 11:12 PM one sweet looking interior... i want to see more... lol ProSStreet 11-24-2003, 06:08 PM well this is for Purpura Delujo and anyone else who may be wondering how i built the hood. I basically used this Tutorial: http://www.briansmodelcars.com/tutorials/tutorial.asp?TutorialID=10&CurPage=1 but i modified it to my own likings. since i didnt like the look of the final outcome of this one i used this picture: http://www.afxnscaleresin.150m.com/images/67%20Chevelle%20Hood.jpg as my guideline by the way you can order hoods from http://www.afxnscaleresin.150m.com/outlaw_hoods.htm if you want, i only built mine because ofcourse the only one unavailable was the 67 chevelle hood Purpura Delujo 11-24-2003, 08:12 PM Sweet! Thanks alot for that link, looks like I will have to use it, because the 1968 Firebird bonnet isn't on there either :( I only have 2 hoods to practice this cowl induction on, hope I can get it to work, thanks for the link again, ProSS! bigblockss 11-25-2003, 02:52 PM if u r still haven probs with the cage try to slide in thru the back lookin good thuo vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
