b16a2 from sir2(92-95) into 96 dx hatchCRXsk8er 11-15-2003, 06:57 PM could a 99-00 si harness(obd2) plug into a b16a2 from an sir2(92-95)(obd1) for my swap because my stock harness doesnt. some people say to stick wit obd2 because it is very complicated converting from obd2 to obd1. maxspeedhonda 11-15-2003, 07:13 PM since the motor is obd 1, stick with it. A conversion to obd 2 is possible, but it is my understanding that it is easier to convert an obd2 car to obd1. Hell, I believe there are companies that make conversion harnesses. Try hasport or placeracing. What I do know for a fact though is obd2 cars are a bitch to tune, the ecu has a habit of setting itself back to stock (don't ask how). CRXsk8er 11-17-2003, 10:32 AM people say converting ur car from obd2 to obd1 is very complicated. they say it would be easier keeping my car obd2. so could a 99-00 si harness plug into my b16a2 from a sir2(92-95). because if it did i would buy an si ecu and my car would still be obd 2. maxspeedhonda 11-17-2003, 08:24 PM people say converting ur car from obd2 to obd1 is very complicated. they say it would be easier keeping my car obd2. so could a 99-00 si harness plug into my b16a2 from a sir2(92-95). because if it did i would buy an si ecu and my car would still be obd 2. The b16a2 is from a 99-00 si (yes is obd2), and is a USDM motor. The sir2 (92-95) is a JDM motor and is obd1. You can buy the conversion kit. All you do basically is plug in your car's obd2 harness into one side, the other side connects to the obd1 ecu. JDM motors DO NOT have numbers following them. -there is the JDM b16a from the integra xsi, then the sir1 and sir2 -the USDM counterparts are b16a3 (del sol) and b16a2 (99-00 si and some del sol models) CRXsk8er 11-19-2003, 10:25 AM The b16a2 is from a 99-00 si (yes is obd2), and is a USDM motor. SiR and SiRII are not generations, they are trim levels, like Si, EX, VX, etc...they do not designate what year a car is, only the options it came with.
