how to diy speaker swap?beatz3 11-15-2003, 03:28 PM I want to change from the factory speakers in my 2002 civic lx to some new ones I bought. I want to be careful about taking apart the door to do it, so can anyone walk me through taking apart the front doors to replace the speakers. Blowncivic1320 11-15-2003, 03:44 PM Not too familiar with the door panels on a 2k2 but on the 95 i had AND the 98 I have now you can get to the speakers and take them out without taking the door panels off. The grille down in the bottom should just pull out then u unscrew the speaker and up-clip it. cut the clip off that is in the door and get some kind of connector for the speaker and the wires and connect, screw the speaker in, put grille back on, and your done Hope I helped beatz3 11-15-2003, 03:56 PM yeah, I have a 95' and that was immensely easier to change speakers. On this 02' theres no grill cover. The cover is part of the door panel. There aren't any visible screws. I imagine there's clips behind the panel but don't want to pull too hard if there isn't. Thanks tho. Not too familiar with the door panels on a 2k2 but on the 95 i had AND the 98 I have now you can get to the speakers and take them out without taking the door panels off.
