I really like it. it should be out in 2 years, if Germany doesn't cancel it. It hopefully will have the new, 353 hp hemi engine.
I really like it, it should be awesome (it wont be powered by CNG, like the concept car did)
I can't wait for it:D

Yeah, my mag said they were going to probably make it. It may have been cancelled, you can thank Stuggart for that, or their 2 billion dollar loss.

Anybody have any pics? Is it similar to the late 60's early 70's Chargers?
Chris

Sorry, I dont have any pics:(
But I think it's been cancelled, they are making the Crossfire instead.
It has a big cross-hair grille, a sleek profile with a beltline that goes higher as you move down the car. It's lights are almost reminiscent of teh pre-facelifted Camaro's. It is very nice.

I have been trying to find some pics on this. I saw some of the original idea to make it with an alternative fuel system, but they scratched that idea.
I hope to hell they make the new Charger, because I am tired of all these Chevy and Ford guys that can buy high HP for a low price. Sure a Viper can waste a Mustang or a Camero, but that would be a little spendy. The Charger can do just that but at a good price.

I too would love to see the comeback of the Charger. However, this Crossfire sounds nice. Happen to have any pics of it? Thanks

Please tell me there will be a coupe as well on the Charger R/T, I don't want a sedan.
Chris

So you noticed the 4th door. It is there because the market for 2 door coupes is rapidly declining. So to make a business case of it, it needs four doors. But it looks like it didn't make it (stupid Germans!!), so it doesn't matter anymore.
Polygon

They better make something to compete with the Mustangs and Cameros. Grrr, when people buy sport, they don't want four damn doors.
I would expect Chrysler of all companies to know that. I don't think they are canning the idea though, they brought back the Hemi for that, though they will put it in the Rams and the Jeeps, possibly the 300.

FYI.. the charger has not been cancelled, it is supposed to debut in 2005. It will be redesigned before it does debut though, and will not look much like the concept. It will be based off of the upcoming LX platform which will also be used for the next Concorde and 300N. It will have a 5.7 litre HEMI V8 with RWD and a 5-spd. Check out the article below.

I would like a real Charger to exist. I would like it to be much smaller than the concept was, however. I don't like big, heavy cars:cool:

If it looks anything like the concept drawing, I will be very pleased. I would have to change the color though. I also heard that the Intrepid would be replaced by the Charger. I like the idea.

Here is the best Charger Daytona (69) I got........I say this is the best b/c it shows the side of it not the color. The baddest colors this car came in was the Orange with the white wing :D http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/215522dodge-daytona-1969a.jpg

I like the sedan idea (no comments needed, I know how you feel too). I think the car is sweet as is, but will suck when it is redesigned. The lines wont be as defined, the front will be raised as well as the roof for safety reasons. Sadly I see it more as an Intrepid than the concept car. I love it as it is pictured now and would buy it. Has there been any new news, still 2005 projected release date? Anything about MSRP? I am assuming mid 30's decently equipped. You might not agree. I don;t like it replaceing the intrepid because I would much rather it not be such a popular car on the road, I want to be one of the few. :) Just my 2 cents. Let me know if you hear anything.

Yeah, but it can go over 200MPH, and it looks sweet. If you have enough money to have one, you can buy your own parking lot.

Yeah Polygon, Dodge did a masterful job to improve the aerodinamics on the Charger, didn't NASCAR ban those because they were too fast on the track, they were so fast that the tires could not handle the speed.

They banned the Hemi as well as the Charger Daytona and Superbirds for having an unfair advantage.

i agree with nascar in one point of view and not in the other. I don't think nascar should have banned the Chargers. What they should have done was make the rest of the cars equal to the Charger like they are doing with the Chevy, Pontiacs, Dodges, and Fords this year....

I don't. I liked NASCAR when they raced cars that I could go buy right off the show room floor and say that I have the car that won on Sunday. The thing is that Chevey and Ford bitched about the Hemi to NASCAR so they banned it. That is total BS, it is not Dodge's fault that the other two couldn't compete.

Cadilac or Bentley
And they want people to be surprised and in my opinion
is that Dodge will not make it looks like an 80s Camaro
well if you didn't see one from the side it does
Why would they do that to be th next AMC huh? :iceslolan
Well come on your more then likely to by them
and any idiot who can't afford one don't care about them
look at the new lamborghini for 2003 we're not going to care about
it in 5 yrs. I mean it. hey well you must be an idiot
the public cares more about new cars then old cars look at these
car magazines of today(especially Auto Week).
