ABS lite & brake lite problemscbence 11-05-2003, 12:32 PM I have a 1991 F150 Supercab with RABS I (rear anti-lock only). I have two (I hope) unrelated problems. 1. My brake lite will not go off. I disconnected the plug at the master cylinder and it went off, but it still works when I engage the parking brake. By the way, I know the switch is closed, because I jumped the wires in the plug and the light came back on. I installed a new master cylinder, bled the brakes and I have a full firm pedal. It is full of fluid. Does this mean the float mechanisim is faulty?? Or, is the proportioning valve faulty?? 2. I have lost 1/2 of my RABS diagnostic connector. My ABS lite was on, so I checked the fuse - o.k.. I took the rear sensor out and it was closed - read 1400 ohms. I proceeded to look under the dash to run the "blinking light" test. Lo and behold, the diagnostic connector was disconnected. I found the black/orange wire and ran the test and got 4 blinks ( which according to my manual signals a broken circuit). I decided to reconnect the connector and see if I could get the light to go out. BUT, I CANNOT FIND THE OTHER SIDE OF MY CONNECTOR. Could I have lost it?? Anyone know where the red wire side comes from or where it goes. Surely it did not just disappear. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Chuck vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
