probably a 215......

but tire widths vary in between manufactuer, for instance people tell me Falkens are wider then advertised....

how wide are stock alloys? because they come with 205s. if they are less than 7" wide, them i'm sure you can fit bigger than 215s on a 7" wide rim. i'd e-mail a tire manufacturer or tirerack.com.

what the HEY are you talking about?????????!?!!!!!!??

dude, that setup would rock. i had 17x7 +42 with 215/45/17 in front and 225/45/17 in back WITH a 2.2" drop.

here's how it looks

the looks are phenomenal, wheels are perfectly flush with the car.

handling was great since they were so thick.

go for it.

The 7" with a 42mm is fine for most fitments unless you plan on using a Sawsall:) You are going to get more improvement in handling going to a better tire in a 'normal' size than you will going to an 18" wheel. As far as the fit, mynismo's photos speak for themselves:bigthumb: Nice looking setup! Anything wider is going to be sticking out past the fenders. It may not be PFAT, but it makes a heck of a lot more sense from a mechanical standpoint. I kinda like my wheel bearing to last for more than 20000 miles:p Check out the Tire and Wheel board for more FAQs on tires and wheels. I'm the new moderator over there:smile:

i got my eagle f1's from you guys, too! the best tires you can get, and tirerack has the best price out there and fast shipping (if in stock..., thats the only downfall)

i wish i kept those tires when i sold it... too bad the rims were 4 lug too otherwise i'd ride them on my max.

btw you may be able to fit 225's on the front.... it will be very tite though. i think dayna had 225's all around (maybe 215's??).

stock is 6.5" width, i think they highest you can go is 215. with 7" you can fit 235's. 7.5" are good up to 255-ish.

if i had to do it over again i'd get 215's all around so you can rotate them, and still keep the speedometer somewhat close.

I dunno if they are the best

for normal street tires I like the BF Goodrich G-Force KDW's. They are superior to even most performance tires, noticebly better by a lot. And they are excellent on wet surface.

categorized as a street tire but some sanctions do not allow them, and they have very soft compounds so its not really a "streetable" tire are the Toyo RA-1's. I think those are the best street legal tires on dry pavement for grip, they are pretty much racing slicks with a few steps of tread on them. The outside tread blocks are very shallow, while the inside tread pattern is a little bit deeper, and below it all is a good slick, lotta people shave them down to just the all slick part for maxium traction, but it doesn't last as long as normal.

i havent seen many cars running sizes larger than these...
7.0 215
7.5 235
8.0 245

I plan on using 17x7.5F 17x8.5R Rays Gramlight 57S with 225F and 245R tires

for anyone who hasent seen the 57S... its the shiz think 350Z track rims but better... and they're cheap as hell (for Rays anyways) 250$ for 17x8.5

I hear some people buy used Goodyear R1 racing tires for fairly cheap, cheaper then a DOT race tire like the Toyo RA-1's or those BF Goodrich's(BFG is nice but they are expensive, paying for the name)

Most of this shit isn't really streetable though. Those BF.G. are badass though and they work REALLY well in water too, surprisingly for a tire with large tread blocks.... they won't last as long as an econo tire, but if you drive hard no tire will last as long as the manufactuer intends it to....

so if your looking for a durable tire, slow down....

mine were $200 for the front and $220 for the back. runflats go for double i think, that's what you guys are looking at. who needs runflats? ;)

i think they came down about $60 since i bought them

you can fit 245's on 7.5" and 255's on 8"

Thanks, I love white cars too, but I got a good deal on blue one. Gold wheels on blue wrx's is way too common, plus you all know how much I love white wheels. I'll post pics as soon as I get them.
