are you 18 too? same here. and i hate how we're always stereotyped to be immature, know-nothing, in-experienced fools. show me a 40 year old 240SX fan and i bet i know just as much if not more then him about the car. it doesn't matter how old you are as long as you've done the research and taken the time to learn properly. yeah, sure. some experience behind the wheel and under the hood counts, so a 40-year old might top me in that department, but i HATE it when people dismiss me because of my age. hell, i'm 18 and i'm the sole moderator of this forum, so that must say something, no?

I'm actually only 17 and bought my first car 1 month after my 17th birthday... i had my G2 for about 2 months then i bought my car...

so even tho im young.. i can honestly say i worked to get what i have... i didnt take any handouts... i payed for my own car, and i pay for my own insurance.

my car may not be the fastest... but its faster than any other 17 year old's car who pays for their own stuff :smile:

LOL Yea I thought I knew everything about cars and 240sx's when I was 18 too - even before I actually owned a 240sx. Now after 2 1/2 years of driving 240sxs and working on them, I know about 20 times more than I did before - and I still have a lot to learn. Hell, I've got a whole set of polyurethane rear camber bushings in my trunk and I dont even know where or how to install them - how can I call myself a 240sx know-it-all?

Oh and I gotta say that I learned much much more from actually working on the car than I ever did on a website or in a magazine - and Ive been to a lot of websites and read a lot of magazines :icon16:

just kidding brian...but I do have one gripe: the first car is a manual...the second is an auto. So the first is better IMO, even if it's more ricey. Both wouldn't be that bad if they just got rid of those dumb FnF style decals. I never understood it...like a wave is coming over your car or a some sort of rip in the universe is eminating from your gay car.

i agree that both of the cars can easily be salvaged (even the auto one if you swap it over), but i'm griping at the modifications that HAVE been done to them. it's obvious that the owners of these cars have no idea what they actually own and would be better suited to an Accord or Civic.

I'd have to disagree. as a former honda owner it still pained me to see riced out civics when people could have been more inspired by cars like the ctr, itr and atr. ricers should be regulated to geos and kias. by the way...halloween is over dude. what happened with the tootsie roll?

I think that with all of the stupid laws popping up banning import enthusiasts from enjoying theyre cars they should at least make a maximum wing height law where anyone caught on the road with a wing over say 2.5" high should be given a reckless driving ticket and be taken to jail, and have theyre driving privilages revoked for at least 6 months. :naughty:

sometimes a manual to auto conversion could be a good thing.
If I was going to use it as a drag car I would defintely have an auto over a manual. With a high stall Torque Converter, Shift kit, and better hard parts it will be shifting hard, and faster then anyone could shift a manual, plus it gives you the consistency to move up in your class.

I feel the same way about wings... Aluminium and CF wings should only go on FD rx-7's, But I feel a bit two sided on the Soarer. Any wing on a car should be painted to the cars color and shouldnt have 2 wings (although Saleen made one for mustangs that didnt look to bad and had two wings/levels (s351 for those who want to look it up)) I have a buddy that had a VW golf that he DUCK TAPED a bunch of stock wings from a junk yard to his car... 7 IN ALL. He spray painted his rims gold, KEYED Vtech into his hood and put all types of badging from junk cars on it. He used Tin foil for chrome (intake and such)... And lastly but not leastly he had a friend weld on a COFFEE CAN to his tail pipe. Ill try and get pictures from him. He even brought it to a local car show and tried to pass off as being serious.

Man both those cars really look like crap. How then do such moronic things to cars that were at least nice looking at one time. Even the second looks bad. Maybe if you took off the decals and that wing it might be okay, but it is still an automatic.

Why dont people understand this!?! Automatics are REALLY iomproving. Hell, you can even get them made to be sequential shift now.

Theres a T66 supra here with some trick auto trans and a 4500rpm stall converter who ownz all bitchez

In Australia, alot of people with RB25s use the automatc, and theyre over 400hp, with no problems

I want an Ikeya Formula sequential shift though :)

Not being able to have precognition is the flaw of autos...it doesn't know when you may want to downshift or upshift...it just does what the engine.

For drag racing an auto may be a bit more badass...but for curvy roads and street use a manual is way better :iceslolan

anyhow...they both have their good points, but I prefer to do my own shifting.
