Toronto represent.

keep it in parking lots and tracks, dude. don't drift on the streets.

noobs only get flamed if they ask stupid questions or act cocky.

drifting in a parking lot is a lot less dangerous... plus if you get caught.. they will usually only give you trespassing... if you do it on the street and cant get away with the "i lost control" bit... then you can get slapped with careless, wreckless, or even dangerous driving... (one of those is a CRIMINAL charge... i think dangerous)

school parking lots on weekends are good... truck lots (where they load and unload stuff from buildings... usually need lots of space for trucks... so they have big paved untouched ashvault.

yeha the thhing is tho that i don want to jsu drift fo no reason. i want to actualy have a path to follow. like a track or a couple of street intersections. like some of the drifting vids in japan they drift in the street thats pretty coo.

btw u guys how much power do NOS stickers add. i heard atleast 20 at the wheels. and if they are in red does that help?? tnx

CanadianGTR

lol
NOS stickers add 25BHP and TYPE R stickers add 50 :iceslolan

If you want a path... goto a construction site.. and steal some cones... go set them up and then u have a path...

or if there are any developments (housing) in your area... chances are they are covered in dirt and gravel (good for drifting and not screwing ur suspension or drivetrain in dry conditions) just go there and boot around... there are roads... and usually only one security guard... and believe me , more often than not, they dont care as long as your not damaging anything or going into the houses.

if you want to risk it... drift in an industrial area... i know some places in toronto and the GTA... but I am not going to post them on here...

I am in both the street racing scene and the drifting scene and I know that in both... nobody speaks publically about locations.

never drift in commercial or residential areas though because there is usually a high traffic rate (pedestrian and motorist) and if your gonna mess up at least in an industrial areia you are only going to hurt yourself and nobody else.

i seriousley hope you're joking about the NOS sticker thing...and if you aren't, you might want to just pretend you were if you know what i mean...lol.

if you must drift on the streets, go in an industrial back area in the middle of the night. there's barely anybody back there during the day, so at night you're even more guaranteed that there won't be many people there. just BE CAREFUL and watch for any big trucks that may be leaving/arriving to the shipping station late.

+ dont goto the same place over and over again.. the security WILL catch on.. and if there IS anyone in a building who doesnt share your joy for the sport... they WILL call the police... and then the police and security will frequent your spot... best to have lots of small spots rather than one large one.

my pal and I got caught on private property... tried to bullshit our way out of it but they had us on camera... lol ( I still want a copy of that tape )

turns out that there were people in the building that we were drifting in the parking lot of... and they reported 2 drunk kids in cars. So they sent 2 cruisers.. one taped... and one stood back.. when they had enough footage... the cop rolled in.

its a long amusing story and if you want to hear it lemme know.

oh yea.. and truckers have radios.. and they WILL use them if you be a dick around them.. so respect them..

my rule of thumb is not to drift with an audience of any sort (friends, trucks, etc.) ... that way there are less people to get hurt if something goes wrong.. and there are less people to call the cops on you.

the reason why people drift on those streets in japan is because on those streets, people arent allowed to WALK on them. its strictly for driving/togue runs.

i think its safe to say that everyone in this thread is in or around the GTA. i, myself, am in Maple. about 2 minutes away from Wonderland (to the americans it sounds like a crack house, lol). I dont own a car, and dont have a g2 license.. (but im 19 .. go figure). but i am slowly accumulating my silvia parts so that when i get my coupe, its gonna be pure work for 2 or 3 months, then it will be ready to roll out my garage :D.

anyways.. play safe with drifting, improper suspension setup and bad drifting environment can spell danger for sure. but im sure you guys will try your best to judge whether the time is right for drifting.

personally i wouldnt even think of drifting in toronto right now, cause i go there every day with my friends and lately we cant even have a smoke in a parking lot without having 2 or 3 cops bust our balls. yeah... toronto is huge, but dont think of drifting in the dufferin/eglinton area or anywhere within 10 km of there. as the 13 division station isnt too far off from there. and near wonderland is the same thing, there is a cop station just down rutherford.

yea i have noticed lately that the police are on a huge blitz on EVERYTHING
from racing - jaywalking...

ever since like last wednesday they have been out 24/7 bustin balls

any reason for this ? quota maybe?

just the other day i went into Bolton (my town) for lunch, and on the 5 minute trip to McDonalds and the 5 minute trip back, i saw a total of 8 cop cars. a couple of them might have been the same car twice, but still, that's alotta cops! my town actually has a HUGE industrial section that i plan on "using" once i get an adequate car. there's a ton of freight stations, transportation terminals, and Effem foods, the importer of M&M's, Skittles, Mars etc. to all of North America, is in my town too. but it's a deserted section of town where the cops never go, and it's dead during the day, so at night i'd assume it'd be 20 times better. we'll see...

i gotta come out your way... there are some nice rally/drift roads out here in whitby too.. north though...

we should all meet up sometime and discuss locations...

if you're just going to be an idiot, don't bother posting because, by typing responses like this, you may as well be typing "PLEASE FLAME ME", because that's what's inevitabley going to happen and then more work is going to be made for me because i'm the one that has to clean up the mess, so just do me and us all a favour and stop jokin' around, alright?

another thing i have to ask you. this isn't a flame or anything, but could you possibly start typing NORMALLY?

you say "wus" instead of "was", "jus" instead of "just", "coo" instead of "cool" etc. etc. i don't see the point in leaving out ONE letter or changing one letter to a different one. it can't make you that much of a faster typer can it?

and when you type like that, it's REALLY hard to understand what you're trying to say, and some people might ignore your posts altogether. if you talk like that in person, that's fine, but be respectful of the readers on here and just try to type normally so we don't have to read your posts 4 times to understand them.

it's ok if you joke on here, but when you joke, try to make it OBVIOUS. maybe use a winky smilie, or the one with the tongue out, to show your joking. or even just say "J/K" afterwards, otherwise, how are we to know?

i did a burnout once pulling out of a parking lot, cop saw me pulled me over. luckey for me he never saw a 240sx before i convinced him it was my moms car, and my girlfriend bumped it into neutral and i paniced. he totoaly bought it, i rode away with a warning. so remember.....alwase blame a women

Dorikin

No, the lesson is dont do stupid shit with 240SX's

CanadianGTR
11-04-2003, 09:41 PM
nooo the lesson is...
dont act like a fool in public places or cops will treat 240's like they treat civics...

and a burnout is different from freespinning your tyres a few times

burnout is when ur car is stationary and your tires are spinning... giving off lots of smoke and lots of rubber.
