Is it possible to fit a B18C JDM Integra Type R engine into a '92 USDM Integra GS? How, or why not?

Yes but you will not be ablr to use the B18c tranny you will need to use the tranny that is in the car now. Because the B18c tranny has a hydro clutch and the 92gs has a cable clutch. And it is expensive to swap it over, so just use the GS tranny and you will be fine but other than that it should be a direct bolt in you will need to do some wirring and have a P72 or any DOHC VTEC ecu. Good luck

Thanks! I pulled a price quote off allbodykits.com and a B18c engine runs for $4,949!!! Now, that's more than what I payed for my '92 GS!! I payed $3800 for it and it's only got 100k mi on it and in good condition. That's crazy...Could someone please tell me why the US market purposely puts lower powered engines in their imported cars from Japan? The JDM gets all the good stuff while we're slow engines....WHY????????????

i got a 92 gsr with a type-r swap (engine-trans-wiring-computer) but the guy have to move trans mount, built a front mount, put a hyd. clutch pedal. That mean a lot of work. Its possible but it is pain in the ass. You better just get the engine and buy a jdm trans with the same gearing(to keep cable clutch). it will be less expensive.

What's the difference between a cable and a hydro clutch? Are there any advantages/disadvantages between them or is it just a matter of preference?

Do you mean the transmision? If you talk about clutch you can take the one you prefer(there all the same).Cable trans are lot cheaper than hydro one.

your better off going with the lsd trans or convert your trans to cable it is possible to do so...honda tuning had a artical on a type r swap in 2 a crx and they used the same trans and converted it to cable i have also done a c5 swap into a second gen ls with a hydro trans it was a bitch
