New (for me) Pix of silver McLaren in Japanmini magic 10-29-2003, 03:53 PM so my count for F1's in japan is now 4 (lm, gt, black road car, silver road car), altho i know the number is higher. http://home.att.ne.jp/wood/svr/03.06.Super-14.jpg http://home.att.ne.jp/wood/svr/03.06.Super-13.jpg http://home.att.ne.jp/wood/svr/Cheese10-01.jpg http://home.att.ne.jp/wood/svr/Cheese10-03.jpg http://home.att.ne.jp/wood/svr/Cheese10-04.jpg jomo12345 10-29-2003, 04:03 PM is that some kind of annual car show in japan? btw nice pics mini magic 10-29-2003, 04:19 PM its an amazing site, i found them on here: http://home.att.ne.jp/wood/svr/GalleryTop.htm . I've been on there fora bout an hour and are only 1/2 through all the links. tvrfreak 10-29-2003, 04:27 PM Don't forget the GTRs. Peloton, Xotech, how many are there in Japan and what chassis numbers? And how do you know there is a black roadcar there? Any pics? What about the silver roadcar in the pics? You sure they were taken in Japan? And that the car is still there? From what I heard, there's quite a few cars in Japan, all mothballed and considered "lost." I don't know how many are in Japan exactly, or any other details. I have just seen the pics of the red one, which is now here, the LM and GT, and the pics of this silver car, which were apparently taken in Japan? benchi44 10-29-2003, 04:35 PM the black one ive seen in the background of some pictures,i think it was the lm pictures,or maybe the gtr longtail pictures tvrfreak 10-29-2003, 04:50 PM Mini magic, that is a superb site. I got through about 20 links before my eyes glazed over at all the exotic cars. Awesome stuff, wish I could read Japanese well enough to understand it. I took it for a year in college, but have long forgotten everything except the very basic spoken words. Great job finding this site. I will have to go back and check it out in more detail when I have the time. By the way, I started at the bottom, and in one of those links at the bottom there is another pic of a McLaren. mini magic 10-29-2003, 04:54 PM i'm fairly certain the pix were taken in japan. the site was japanese ;) . As to wether if it is still there or not, i do not know. here is the black one (i had these labeled up as "McLaren in China" but i'm fairly sure its in Japan: http://speed.supercars.net/boardpics/2003-9-29/1634203-mini%20magica.jpg http://speed.supercars.net/boardpics/2003-9-29/1634203-mini%20magicb.jpg http://speed.supercars.net/boardpics/2003-9-29/1634203-mini%20magicc.jpg http://speed.supercars.net/boardpics/2003-9-29/1634203-mini%20magicd.jpg McLaren F1 Guy 10-29-2003, 05:00 PM They have to be japanese, you'll notice the billboard in the background of the first pic is in japanese Peloton25 10-29-2003, 05:07 PM By the way, I started at the bottom, and in one of those links at the bottom there is another pic of a McLaren. http://www5.tok2.com/home2/svr/99.11.Neko-15.jpg To me, that looks to be the other white F1 road car - I had never seen that photo before. mini magic - the black car you posted photos of is #003, the Ron Dennis car. It's the same car I posted photos of long ago doing a donut in an almost empty parking lot in Japan. I believe that McLaren Cars sent #003 there as a demo car for prospective customers - I don't think it lives there unless someone bought it from Dennis. Maybe someone else knows better. >8^) ER mini magic 10-29-2003, 05:31 PM DAMN YOU!, it took me 2 hours to find that pic ;) i went through all the links :( Peloton, i don't know what pics you are talking about here " It's the same car I posted photos of long ago doing a donut in an almost empty parking lot in Japan". Any cahnce you could repost them McLaren Mike 10-29-2003, 05:41 PM  -Mike :smokin: Peloton25 10-29-2003, 06:19 PM Let me just say, conference calls at work are great. I was able to get through all the links. A couple of notes on that site: This guy is the luckiest photographer in the world. I really wish all those pictures were linked to a larger image. I also wish that he would take more than one photo of each car. I can't believe Countach is so popular - you almost never see them here anymore and they seem to be at every event there. I'm amazed at all the photos of the Schuppan Porsche 962CR - WOW! The Iding Power 5-star wheels look simply beautiful on the F355 I never knew F50s could be made to look ugly: http://www.geocities.co.jp/MotorCity/5895/Cheese09-15.jpg So if the Diablo and the VW W12 had a baby... :D hehe http://www5.tok2.com/home2/svr/02.12.Festival-03.jpg Can you believe that someone actually bought the Italdesign Aztec  Who else laughed at the Fiero?? :lol2: = = = = = mini magic - I'll try to look for them in here - I know I posted them to SC.net, but they would be long gone. If I can't find them, I'll post them again. >8^) ER mini magic 10-29-2003, 06:26 PM humm, could you describe then, i'm sure i would have saved them on sc.net. Thanks Peloton25 10-29-2003, 11:39 PM Mmmmmm.... donuts! :naughty: http://a5.cpimg.com/image/79/B1/25345145-1227-02000148-.jpg http://a2.cpimg.com/image/80/B1/25345152-3e95-02000147-.jpg http://a0.cpimg.com/image/88/B1/25345160-eeef-02000146-.jpg http://a6.cpimg.com/image/8E/B2/25345166-c9b2-02000146-.jpg Let me just say, that looks like so much fun. :iceslolan >8^) ER jkbon 10-30-2003, 03:23 AM mini magic 10-30-2003, 08:53 AM cool pix jkbon, thanks. Anyone have any ideas for a chassis #? mini magic 10-30-2003, 08:55 AM btw, peloton thanks for the pix. i did have them, i didn't read the part about the dounuts, if i did i would have known immediatley. Thanks f1esp 11-07-2003, 02:32 AM mini more pictures about your japanese F1 (take a look at the red line, no line in jkbon's pics). it's signed by Gordon Murray in rear spoiler (there are 3 videos) http://www.sportscarfan.com/yasu/mclarenf1/mclaren.htm f1esp 11-07-2003, 02:47 AM mini your japanese silver F1s are different: http://www.tennodai.com/~satoh/RS200/20030601supasupa/McLarenF1/McLarenF1.htm (this one without red line) Peloton25 11-07-2003, 03:07 AM Let me try my Spanish... "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL" :evillol: You totally scored with those links f1esp - those are brand new to me and I would assume they are new to everyone else here too. Unless someone here is keeping secrets. ;) Great work man!!!  >8^) ER jkbon 11-07-2003, 03:39 AM thanks for the link ombre ! it's the first time I ear the engine like this ! Peloton25 11-07-2003, 03:44 AM Wow - you can actually read the chassis plaque in one of the shots on the second link!! :dogpile: Magnesium Silver - #010 WooHoo - and those photos are beautiful!!! Thanks so much f1esp!! >8^) ER TcarR 11-07-2003, 10:27 AM which photo can you see the chassis plaque clearly enough to read #010? Oh, and what's with the ill-fitting carpets? drewwtms 11-07-2003, 10:57 AM Wow - you can actually read the chassis plaque in one of the shots on the second link!! Magnesium Silver - #010 >8^) ER Is it #10 or #70? I thought that if it was one of the first 13, Gordon Murray's signature would be ahead of the chassis plaque. Peloton25 11-07-2003, 11:02 AM which photo can you see the chassis plaque clearly enough to read #010? This one - it's in the second link he posted - the car without the red stripe on the ventline of the door is #010. http://www.tennodai.com/~satoh/RS200/20030601supasupa/McLarenF1/picture/McLarenF1_shift.jpg Oh, and what's with the ill-fitting carpets? In the first set of photos, it would appear that someone has put in some floormats to protect the carpet which just don't fit the car very well. That would be my guess anyway. >8^) ER McLaren F1 Guy 11-07-2003, 11:27 AM Isn't this car the one that was spotted with the HD kit and the "049 PF" plates, or are there more cars with the red stripe on the ventline that I thought: http://www.sportscarfan.com/yasu/mclarenf1/mclaren.htm Peloton25 11-07-2003, 11:44 AM Is it #10 or #70? I thought that if it was one of the first 13, Gordon Murray's signature would be ahead of the chassis plaque. You make a very valid point - and admittedly, it's really hard to be certain one way or the other from that photo. I pulled it into photoshop, increased the size and sharpened it just a hair. I think you might be right, but I'm not positive either way. The signature thing you bring up is a very valid point though - thanks for mentioning that. Here's the photo - let the debate begin. :D http://a4.cpimg.com/image/7C/EB/25735804-38fc-028001E0-.jpg mini magic claims that the silver F1 on Autosalon Singen's site was #070, and most of the details match, except that car had a red driver's seat. Maybe it was refitted when it changed hands. I guess we'll have to find out how confident he really is that it was #070. I just love a good McLaren mystery. ;) >8^) ER Peloton25 11-07-2003, 11:58 AM Isn't this car the one that was spotted with the HD kit and the "049 PF" plates, or are there more cars with the red stripe on the ventline that I thought: http://www.sportscarfan.com/yasu/mclarenf1/mclaren.htm I'm not familiar with any silver HDF car that has the red stripe on the door. The car that was spotted at the factory by tvrfreak wearing that plate certainly does not have one. There are now three F1s I'm aware of with the ventline stripe painted red. They would be #002 which has been refitted with the HDF kit but is charcoal grey (read black), Leno's #015 (black), and this car. I haven't a clue what the chassis number is on this most recent one from Japan, but I will fire up the old email machine and see if the photographer can tell us. I think if we had a hi-res version of this photo, we might be able to tell. http://www.sportscarfan.com/yasu/mclarenf1/my1/79.jpg >8^) ER TcarR 11-07-2003, 12:01 PM there is a good photo amongst the collection which shows the engine stamped with the build date of december '93. Therefore this is probably 010, as it is a 94 car. that still leaves the mystery over the lack of murray's signature.... TcarR 11-07-2003, 12:04 PM lol, i've mixed the two cars up. Forget everything i just sayed :grinno: EDIT: no, don't forget everything. The point i made about the date stamped into the exhaust system, seen here: http://www.sportscarfan.com/yasu/mclarenf1/my1/mc_02.htm means we can narrow down which car it is, as it is quite likely to be an early '94 car. That leaves 001 (unlikely), 006, 009, 010 (the other japan car?) and 013. Anybody know anything about these cars? BTW: there is something rather nice about this photo: http://www.tennodai.com/~satoh/RS200/20030601supasupa/McLarenF1/picture/McLarenF1_Left_trunk.jpg Looks like the car sees regular use with all those things (jacket, model car etc.) you'd find in a "normal" car. f1esp 11-07-2003, 01:31 PM the red stripe car (with red seat and '93 exhaust) has a Gordon Murray signature in the rear spoiler. I don't know if that helps mini magic 11-07-2003, 03:14 PM wow. i have missed a lot since last night... kosatoh 11-30-2003, 05:47 AM Sorry, I did'nt take fine photo about #No. Although it does not know when comes, if I meet the owner of the car shortly, it will be heard about #No. Is it better to ask others about it? http://www.tennodai.com/~satoh/RS200/index_e.html cabrio92 11-30-2003, 08:06 AM Hello, I have a question for you Kosatoh : I think understand that you have bought a Ford RS 200 ? Wouaoaoa ! Is it true ? How many are in Japan ? Good bye Philippe kosatoh 11-30-2003, 09:23 AM Hello, I have a question for you Kosatoh : I think understand that you have bought a Ford RS 200 ? Wouaoaoa ! Is it true ? How many are in Japan ? Good bye Philippe Dear Philippe. Yes, I have a RS200. I bought it in 2000. 10 RS200s certainly exist. I know where they are. Probably, 20 sets do not exist. Evaluation of McLarenF1 is highest in Japan. Evaluation of RS200 is lower in Japan. Unnnnn..... cabrio92 11-30-2003, 09:35 AM Kosatoh ! Thank you for your answer. I am impressed ! Can you tell me how much costs it if you want please ? Which pleasure with your RS200 ? Goodbye Philippe kosatoh 11-30-2003, 11:34 AM Kosatoh ! Thank you for your answer. I am impressed ! Can you tell me how much costs it if you want please ? Which pleasure with your RS200 ? Goodbye Philippe Dear Philippe. I bought it about 45000US$, and to restore it costs totaly about same... I make a deep impression about its strong body structure. Maybe,it has stronger body than Ferrari360Modena,once I drove. But McLarenF1 >>>>>>RS200. McLarenF1 is ultimate road car ,I think. I love it. mini magic 11-30-2003, 11:35 AM wow. i love the rs200. welcome to the boards Kosatoh and i love your car. tvrfreak 11-30-2003, 02:04 PM Yeah, cool car Kosatoh-san. Kore ni kuruma wa ee desu ne! Please reply in Egirisu as my Japanese is very bad. Wakarimasen. There's a few RS2000s in the US too. They rock! :) The spoiler on the red McLaren has been removed. Along with the owner's yellow Enzo, red F40, red 288, red Bentley GT, and a few other cars, it's stored a few miles away from his home. I don't know why--I am guessing he is building a bigger garage. But they don't live with him. :) Couple of quick questions: 1. Do you know who owns the white McLaren? (Hint: It lives at Mt. Rakko) 2. Do you know how many McLarens are in Japan? I have 4--the silver one, the white one, the dark red GT, and the orange LM. Any others? 3. Do you know which museum/collection has the orange LM and the dark red GT? Domo. :) Porsche 12-01-2003, 12:16 AM I thought that either 24 or 26 RS200's were originally produced, or was that the RS 200 S? I actually thought they were produced in much larger numbers, or are we talking just japanese numbers? Sorry for the off-topic venture but the RS200 is badass. Dunno if this helps (and by now everyone's probably long since caring) but #006 is a very low mileage silver Japanese car with the number plate "8" (the most expensive plate in the world?). I don't believe it has a stripe. mini magic 12-07-2003, 12:49 PM thanks a lot McLaren Mike 12-08-2003, 06:29 AM Dunno if this helps (and by now everyone's probably long since caring) but #006 is a very low mileage silver Japanese car with the number plate "8" (the most expensive plate in the world?). I don't believe it has a stripe. About the plate, you're probably correct. I mabey stating the obvious but the number 8 in many asian cultures even on number plates shows a superior sign of wealth, as 8 is their money number, a series of 8 is very wealthy, but 8 alone is like bill gates x100 :p Another useless fact brought to you by: -McLaren Mike:aus: :iceslolan vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
